The fungal biomass of cocoa bean shell (FBCS) obtained by solid-state fermentation (SSF) with Penicillium roqueforti was used as a natural corrosion inhibitor carbon steel in an acidic solution 0.5 mol.L−1 HCl. evaluation the corrosive process carried out using gravimetric, electrochemical, and surface analysis techniques. gravimetric test data were to calculate rate, current density, efficiency. Electrochemical measurements provided polarization curves electrochemical impedance spectroscopy...

Carbon steel is used in various applications because of its excellent weldability, good mechanical resistance and low cost. However, application becomes restricted due to corrosion neutral acidic media, it necessary use processes retard the corrosive mechanism, such as inhibitors. Many effective synthetic inhibitors are associated with high cost some have a toxicity. In recent years, studies obtained from natural products been increasing they environmentally sustainable presents low-cost....

The inhibition effect of the cocoa bean shell powder (CBSP) on SAE 1008 carbon steel was studied in acidic medium (HCl 0.5 mol L-1) by electrochemical techniques and gravimetric measurements. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were used to chemical morphological characterization. EIS results showed that corrosion rate decreases with increasing inhibitor concentration, reaching maximum value 97.92% 1.77 g L-1 (highest concentration studied). Even...

The malt bagasse is a solid residue, highly produced in the brewing industry. presence of high levels antioxidants its composition makes this residue an attractive possibility as corrosion inhibitor, besides being sustainable and low cost alternative to inorganic procedures currently used prevent corrosion. In sense, work evaluated efficiency powder inhibitor on surface AISI 1020 carbon steel, different concentrations, acidic medium 0.5 mol.L-1 HCl. resistance was tested by electrochemical...
