Aim. To identify predictors of 3-month mortality after heart transplantation in a Croatian academic center. Methods. A retrospective review institutional database identified 117 transplantations from January 2008 to July 2014. Two children <14 years were excluded the study. The remaining 115 patients dichotomized into survivors and non-survivors adjudicated at 3-months postoperatively, their demographic, clinical, longitudinal hemodynamic data analyzed. Results. survival was 86%....
Patients with repaired tetralogy Fallot often develop severe pulmonary regurgitation (PR) and need surgical or catheter valve replacement/implantation. Early failure is not expected thrombosis of a biological in mid-term period after surgery on position rare.We report 33-year-old female patient, who presented heart failure, 18 months implantation for PR, previous complete repair. The patient was anticoagulant therapy novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs) paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. After...
SAŽETAK: Kardiovaskularne su bolesti,
Cardiologia CROATICA We present an echocardiographic evaluation of a 27-yearold young male patient who was referred to our institution after loud systolic murmur found during his occupational health check-up.. Besides the murmur, physical exam, and results laboratory tests were normal. He has no significant complaints. His first 2D transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) revealed severely dilated right ventricle (RV area greater than left ventricular area), volume overloaded excentrically...
Heart retransplant is a treatment option for some patients with graft failure. With heart donor short-age, it important to assess candidates carefully cardiac retransplant. An adult patient had successful urgent due severe toxic cardiomyopathy (anthracycline-induced) after posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease that was diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Introduction: Cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) is a progressive form of coronary disease that defines the long term prognosis in heart transplant patients. The mortality surgical revascularization post-transplant patients very high. Percutaneous intervention (PCI) has relatively low periprocedural and high acute angiographic success, but still restenosis rate poor long-term results. Bypass surgery (CABG) considered gold-standard for unprotected left main artery (LMCA) non-transplant...
Cardiologia CROATICA Purpose: Low birth weight is an important predictor of infant health and survival, associated with significant mortality development multiple diseases in adulthood including increased cardiovascular risk. Incidence LBW the general population around 5-10%, several studies showing that female neonates have better outcomes perinatal period. Considering this data, if remodeling a risk factor for adult disease, there should be more patients both disorder personal history our...
VII. nacionalni sastanak o kardiovaskularnim intervencijama s međunarodnim sudjelovanjem VI. intervencijskih kardioloških medicinskih sestara i tehničaraCase presentation: A 66-year-old man was admitted to our department due persistent chest pain that awoke him from sleep, accompanied by transient ST elevation in anteroseptal leads (Figure 1).Several months earlier a coronary angiography done anginal only revealed nonsignificant atherosclerotic lesion the ostial segment of left anterior...
E-mail: marijan.pasalic@yahoo.com Purpose: While analyzing the group of patients implanted with a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) at our institution to verify which preand postoperative factors constitute optimal survival outcome predictors, we determined significant increase in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) values expired patients1. The aim this study was further analyze data order determine preoperative were related aforementioned PVR values. Methods: For 20 (18 M, 2 F; mean...
VII. nacionalni sastanak o kardiovaskularnim intervencijama s međunarodnim sudjelovanjem VI. intervencijskih kardioloških medicinskih sestara i tehničara Case report: A 77-year-old man with stable angina and known left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease was admitted for elective percutaneous intervention (PCI).Dual antiplatelet therapy aspirin clopidogrel had been instituted 7 days before the PCI, accompanied by administration of unfractionated heparin (UHF) during procedure. For PCI...
Purpose:We investigated pretransplant and posttransplant factors that could influence survival development of cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) graft cellular rejection (CR) in heart transplant patients (Pts). Methods: 120 study Pts the follow-up 10 years, mean age 48,8±13,5.The patient characteristics (age, gender, blood type, diagnosis, pulmonary vascular resistance -PVR), transpulmonary gradient, ischemic time duration extracorporeal circulation, ECC) comorbidities (diabetes mellitus,...
