Abstract Postharvest diseases cause considerable losses of harvested fruits during transportation and storage. Many yeast species have been reported as good antagonists against postharvest pear pathogens. In this work, we used a novel selection strategy that involves the isolation yeasts from washing fluids, showing biocontrol activity regional Penicillium expansum strain (primary screening), originally obtained fruit wounds after long time storage at −1/0°C. About 26 isolates representative...

Abstract The production of onion waste derived mainly from bulbs affected by fungal diseases, during classification and storage presents an important agro-environmental issue in regions. Composting is environmentally friendly strategy to recycle agricultural produce organic fertilizers. Modifications the microbial community soil can affect ability pathogen propagules survive, germinate infect plant roots. Hence, main objective this work was exploring mechanisms involved on presence three...

Apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) is an important fruit crop in Río Negro, Argentina. In recent years, the frequency of canker and dieback symptoms have increased affecting different apple cultivars. September 2014, a higher occurrence cankers (29%) (9%) was observed commercial orchard 10-year-old trees (n=210) cv 'Ital Red' General Roca, Argentina (39°2'36.73"S - 67°32'44.55"W). Symptoms initially appeared as necrotic bark lesions on tree trunks branches often associated with pruning wounds....

Dieback and canker disease caused by species of Botryosphaeriales affect the productivity pome fruit orchards. In this study, we evaluated efficacy fungicides biofungicide for controlling dieback diseases in apple pear using vitro field trials. Isolates Diplodia seriata, D. mutila, Dothiorella omnivora from apple, seriata Aplosporella aquifolii were used. Cercobin® (thiophanate-methyl), followed Bellis® (pyraclostrobin + boscalid), Nativo® (tebuconazole trifloxystrobin) inhibited mycelial...

In August 2018, symptoms of apical and basal rot resembling those caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum infection were observed in a commercial Brussels sprouts field North Patagonia, Argentina. The incidence was 23.30% 2.30%, respectively. Carpogenic germination sclerotia detected shaded, highly humid soil areas. To our knowledge, this is the first report carpogenic from S. Patagonia.
