We have measured parity-violating asymmetries in elastic electron-proton and quasielastic electron-deuteron scattering at ${Q}^{2}=0.22$ $0.63\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$. They are sensitive to strange quark contributions currents the nucleon axial-vector current. The results indicate of $\ensuremath{\lesssim}10%$ charge magnetic form factors these four-momentum transfers. also present first measurement anapole moment effects current
We have measured the beam-normal single-spin asymmetries in elastic scattering of transversely polarized electrons from proton, and performed first measurement quasielastic on deuteron, at backward angles (lab angle 108°) for Q² = 0.22 GeV²/c² 0.63 beam energies 362 687 MeV, respectively. The asymmetry arises due to imaginary part interference two-photon exchange amplitude with that single-photon exchange. Results proton are consistent a model calculation which includes inelastic...
The NuSTEC workshop (https://indico.cern.ch/event/727283) held at L'Aquila in October 2018 was devoted to neutrino-nucleus scattering the kinematic region where hadronic systems with invariant masses above $Δ(1232)$ resonance are produced: so-called shallow- and deep-inelastic regime. Not only is physics this quite intriguing, it also important for current future oscillation experiments accelerator atmospheric neutrinos. For benefit of community, links presentations accompanied by...
The parity-violating (PV) asymmetry of inclusive π- production in electron scattering from a liquid deuterium target was measured at backward angles. measurement conducted as part the G0 experiment, beam energy 360 MeV. physics process dominating pion for these kinematics is quasifree photoproduction off neutron via Δ0 resonance. In context heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory, this related to low-energy constant d(Δ)- that characterizes γNΔ coupling. Zhu et al. calculated model...
Hadron scattering and production uncertainties are a limiting systematic on accelerator at-mospheric neutrino flux predictions. New hadron measurements necessary for fluxpredictions with well-understood reduced uncertainties. We propose new compact experimentto measure cross sections at beam energies that inaccessibleto currently operating experiments. These can reduce the current 10% fluxuncertainties by an approximate factor of two.
We summarize the current top-quark mass measurements from CDF and DO experiments at Fermilab. combine published Run I (1992--1996) with most precise preliminary II (2001--2011) based on data sets corresponding to up 8.7 fb^{-1} of ppbar collisions. Taking correlations uncertainties into account, combining statistical systematic uncertainties, resulting Tevatron average top quark is M_top = 173.20 \pm 0.87 GeV/c^2, a relative precision 0.50 %.
Abstract NOνA, the NuMI Off-Axis νe Appearance experiment, will study νμ → oscillations characterized by mixing angle θ13. Provided θ13 is large enough, NOνA may ultimately determine ordering of neutrino masses and measure CP violation in oscillations. The parity-violating asymmetry arising from inelastic electron-nucleon scattering at backward angle (~95 degrees) near the Delta(1232) resonance has been measured using a hydrogen target. From this asymmetry, we extracted axial transition form factor G^A_{N\Delta}, function of Adler factors C^A_i. Though G^A_{N\Delta} previously studied charged current reactions, is first measurement weak neutral excitation Delta proton For Q^2 = 0.34 (GeV/c)^2 and W 1.18 GeV, was to be -33.4 \pm...
The NOνA experiment is a long-baseline neutrino designed to make measurements determine the mass hierarchy, mixing parameters and CP violation in sector. In order these collaboration has highly distributed, synchronized, continuous digitization readout system that able acquire correlate data from Fermilab accelerator complex (NuMI), near detector at site far which located 810 km away Ash River, MN. This unique properties let it fully exploit physics capabilities of detector. design DAQ its...

In neutrino interactions with nucleons and nuclei, Shallow Inelastic Scattering (SIS) refers to processes, dominated by non-resonant contributions, in the kinematic region where $Q^2$ is small invariant mass of hadronic system, $W$, above pion production threshold. The extremely rich science this complex region, poorly understood both theoretically experimentally, encompasses transition from described terms degrees freedom quarks gluons perturbative QCD. Since a large fraction events NOvA...

Abstract We prove a general integration by parts formula for first‐order differential operators on submanifolds of arbitrary codimension given Riemannian manifold. The in question are assumed to satisfy suitable tangentiality condition. Several particular cases, particularly relevant applications PDE arising mathematical physics discussed. We have measured parity violating asymmetries in elastic electron-proton and quasi-elastic electrondeuteron scattering at backward electron angle. These measurements been done two momentum transfers : Q2 = 0.22 0.63 (GeV/c)2 . Together with our previous forward angle measurement [1], we can extract strange quark contributions to the electromagnetic form factors of nucleon, as well nucleon axial factor coming from neutral weak interaction.
