The anisotropic thermal conductivity of ${\mathrm{Tl}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ba}}_{2}$${\mathrm{CaCu}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{8}$ and ${\mathrm{YBa}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}$${\mathrm{O}}_{7}$ single crystals have been measured. In contrast to some earlier measurements on ${\mathrm{YBa}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}$${\mathrm{O}}_{7}$, we found both an in-plane out-of-plane anomaly for these two compounds. We argue that phonon-phonon scattering may also play role in the phenomenon.
