An unusual stem rust infestation occurred in German wheat fields summer 2013. This study analysed 48 isolates derived from 17 Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici (Pgt) samples and six races were identified: TKTTF , TKKTF TKPTF TKKTP PKPTF MMMTF . Infection type genotypic data confirmed that none of these belonged to the TTKS (Ug99) race group. are phenotypically different ones responsible for epidemic Ethiopia 2013–2014. Forty genotyped using a custom SNP array. Phylogenetic analysis showed 40...

Abstract Four durum wheat ( Triticum turgidum ssp. ) lines Rusty‐KLB (Reg. no. GP‐1098, PI 705448), Rusty‐14803 GP‐1097, 705447), Rusty‐ST464C1 GP‐1099, 705449), and CAT‐A1 GP‐1096, 705446), which carry stem rust resistance gene Sr13 alleles Sr13a , Sr13b Sr13c Sr13d respectively, are released by USDA‐ARS. These originated from cultivated emmer T. dicoccum landrace Khapli (CItr 4013), polonicum accession CItr 14803, ST464 (PI 191365), line Camadi Abdu tipo #103 192168), respectively....

In 2020 and 2021, at four locations around the Twin Cities, Minnesota (Sep. 2021: 44.980, -93.319; Aug 44.989, -93.186; Sep 2020: 45.000, -93.138; Sep. 44.870, -92.779), a rust fungus was observed infecting creeping charlie (Glechoma hederacea), weed of Eurasian origin (Hutchings Price, 1999). Within stands, severity ranged from 1 to 30 % leaf loss. Telia were reddish-brown when young, starting small (0.1 0.5 mm), growing into round but irregular sori measuring 5 mm, sometimes coalescing...

The Eurasian crown rust fungus Puccinia coronata var. (Pcc) was recently reported in North America and is widespread across the Midwest Northeast United States. Pcc a close relative of major pathogens oats, barley, turfgrasses. It infects two highly invasive wetland plants, glossy buckthorn (Frangula alnus) reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea), could be useful as an augmentative biological control agent. We conducted large greenhouse trials to assess host specificity determine any threat...
