We review the population ecology of Allium ursinum according to its life history, phenology, demography, dispersal, and dynamics. Spatial distribution is reviewed on two spatial scales. First, a broad scale over Europe, in relation habitat requirement species. Second, fine individual patches, presenting some results about local processes density regulation patch formation. conclude that A. has distinct, hitherto non-described, strategy for monopolizing space dominating forest floor. This...
The detailed chemical analysis of the methanol extract Meripilus giganteus (Pers.) P. Karst. led to isolation two new cerebrosides, mericeramides A (1) and B (2) together with cerebroside (3), ergosterol (4), 3β-hydroxyergosta-7,22-diene (5), cerevisterol (6), 3β-hydroxyergosta-6,8(14),22-triene (7), 3β-O-glucopyranosyl-5,8-epidioxyergosta-6,22-diene (8) (11E,13E)-9,10-dihydroxy-11,13-octadecadienoic acid (9). structures compounds were determined on basis NMR MS spectroscopic analysis....
Recent studies revealed that from various ecological factors influencing nectar yield and quality of a plant, soil properties can be as important microclimatic features. To date, few have investigated the relationship characters to traits bee pollinated plants growing in natural associations. Our study intended reveal which had most powerful impact on variables wild garlic (Allium ursinum L.). Specimens were collected fourteen habitats two different years, potted their original under same...
Abstract Macrofungi play an extraordinarily important role in the catalysis of nutrient cycle deciduous and coniferous forests. Habitat degradation adversely influences number fruiting bodies macrofungi diminishes diversity fungal community. The terricolous- lignicolous assemblages were compared stands semi-natural two plant associations modified by humans different degrees North-East Hungary. We used data from 15 permanent plots that sampled for vascular plants macrofungi. Rank-abundance...
The herb layer plays a significant role in maintaining forest functions, and its community composition is determined by various abiotic factors biotic interactions. This study attempted to investigate the interspecific plant-plant interactions using functional traits approach. Specifically, effects of dominant species coverage on diversity coexisting temperate understory were studied. Species soil moisture data collected 1 m2 quadrat couplet (2 × m2) from six sites alongside 20 m linear...

In the Belső-Cserehát oak-wood pastures have signifi cant natural values.Th ese areas remaining aft er abandonment of grazing become more and conspicuous as protected nowadays, Europe-wide.Th e Irota wood pasture has been formed from Quercetum petraeaecerris Carici pilosae-Carpinetum forest associations. In 1980s area went through a spontaneous aff orestation.Th myco-and phyto-coenological survey was made in 2004-2005 repeated 2014-2015.Th size samples determined following myco-coenological...
Understanding the invasion potential of any plant species is crucial for early detection in habitat conservation, particularly when observing their expansion within native region. As a test species, we utilised Allium ursinum L., dominant clonal spring forest floors. We compared species’ germination capacity (Hungarian) and non-native (North American) soils, its seedling growth, competing performances with two co-occurring Melica uniflora Retz. Carex pilosa Scop., ten soil types three...
During Biodiversity Days 2006 and 2007 in the vicinity of Gyűrűfű village totaly 328 vascular plants have been registered. Among them 12 protected were found: Dryopteris carthusiana, Helleborus dumetorum, Hepatica nobilis, Chamaecytisus ciliatus, Dictamnus albus, Primula vulgaris, Gentiana cruciata, Tamus communis, Cephalanthera damasonium, C. longifolia, Orchis purpurea, Neottia nidus-avis.
During the I. and II. Hungarian Biodiversity Day a total number of 180 macrofungi taxa were documented in 1 km2 sample plot near Gyűrűfű village. The general functional spectra showed lignicolous saprotrophic group biggest (67 species, 37%), but proportion mycorrhizal (44 24%) soil inhabiting (42 23%) functions also significant. 19 species 11% necrotrophic parasites indicates lack forestry management territory, as well its good retentiveness. One single protected documented: Creolophus...
