The widely held assumption that any important scientific information would be available in English underlies the underuse of non-English-language science across disciplines. However, is expected to bring unique and valuable information, especially disciplines where evidence patchy, for emergent issues synthesising an urgent challenge. Yet such contribution communities application rarely quantified. Here, we show studies provide crucial informing global biodiversity conservation. By screening...
Abstract The impacts of enhanced nitrogen (N) deposition on the global forest carbon (C) sink and other ecosystem services may depend whether N is deposited in reduced (mainly as ammonium) or oxidized forms nitrate) subsequent fate each. However, fates two key reactive their contributions to C sinks are unclear. Here, we analyze results from 13 ecosystem-scale paired 15 N-labelling experiments temperate, subtropical, tropical forests. Results show that total retention similar for ammonium...
The influence of environmental attitudes on behaviors has long been discussed. However, few studies have addressed the foundation such attitudes. In present study, we explored primitive belief underlying attitudes, i.e., connections with nature, and its relationship pro-environmental behaviors. Specifically, used scales, a computerized Implicit Association Test, situational simulation experiment to examine both explicit implicit deliberate spontaneous behaviors, find correlations between...
Abstract Speciation in the face of gene flow is usually associated with a heterogeneous genomic landscape divergence nascent species pairs. However, multiple factors, such as divergent selection and local recombination rate variation, can influence formation these islands. Examination landscapes pairs that are still early stages speciation provides an insight into this conundrum. In study, population analyses were undertaken using wide range sampling whole-genome resequencing data from 96...
The nutrient, amino acid, and fatty acid compositions of Caulerpa lentillifera from various aquaculture regions were assessed to analyze their nutritional characteristics potential for development. nutrient composition C. was determined according the standard national determination methods Association Official Analytical Chemists, following data revealed. (1) basic components relatively more abundant in three areas Guangdong Province. crude protein content measured at (8.70 ± 0.36)% (18.57...
In the experiment, Caulerpa lentillifera , sertularioides serrulata Halymenia microcarpa and Chaetomorpha valida were employed. The seawater utilized was high in phosphate nitrogen, macroalgae cultured for 72 hours. We assessed capacity of five different species to remove nitrogen phosphorus from by examining changes concentrations ammonia nitrate active phosphorus. results experiment demonstrated that types had noticeable removal effects on best effect with an absorption efficiency 96.4%....
Polygenic traits are expected to show high genetic redundancy and therefore low repeatability in the genomic response selection. We tested this prediction by selecting for large body size black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). Over three replicate experiments selected size, we found a strong repeatable phenotypic response, with mean 15% increase size. Selected lines also increased larval growth rate (+19%) average protein content (+14%), suggesting that selection on does not result...
Structural variants such as chromosomal rearrangements and gene duplications can play an important role in the adaptation diversification of organisms. Here, we used comparative genomics to study functional implications structural across two families flies. We compared reference genomes eight Asilidae species six Stratiomyidae species, including black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens), a with ability convert organic waste into biomass recently expanded global range. The are generally larger...
How to promote employees’ knowledge-sharing behaviors has become a focus of managers and researchers. Based on the theory relative deprivation, this study explored mechanism organizational procedural justice intra-team knowledge sharing, as well mediating role deprivation moderating group identification. A path analysis was conducted 416 valid questionnaire data, results revealed that: (1) Procedural positive effect sharing; (2) Both individual play between but they have opposite effects....

In this study the relationships among emotional exhaustion (EE), intelligence (EI), and occupational identity (OI) of social workers in China were investigated. Three questionnaires used to survey a sample 88 male 158 female workers. The results revealed that correlations between EE EI OI both significantly negative, was positive. scores for females higher than those males, but there no significant gender differences OI; level education played mixed role EE, EI, scores.
Abstract Background Leaders’ emotions and emotion regulation strategies influence subordinates’ attitudes behaviors, while previous studies have mostly taken an emotional perspective. competence also has impact on subordinates through motivational cognitive pathways. Based self-determination theory, this study examined the of leadership work engagement, as well mediating role intrinsic motivation moderating traditionality. Methods We first performed a scenario experiment in which 116 Chinese...
Low mobility and solubility reduce the availability of traditional phosphorus (P) fertilizer in red acidic soil. Hydroxyapatite (HAP), especially nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HAP), may be more efficient than P because its nanoparticle characteristics. Camellia oleifera ( C. ) is an edible oil tree whose productivity greatly affected by fertilizer. During this study, we investigated migration different particle sizes HAP (20 nm, 200 80 μm) their effects on seedling growth cultivar Huashuo (HS)...
Fossil records indicate that the genus Pinus L. split into two subgenera by Late Cretaceous, although subgenus Strobus (D. Don) Lemmon is less well documented than L., especially in eastern Asia. In this paper, maomingensis sp. nov. established based on a compressed seed cone from upper Eocene of Maoming Basin southern China. This species attributed to Pinus, Strobus, section Quinquefoliae Duhamel, subsection Loudon combination morphological characters obtained scales, specifically terminal...
Parasitic infections have the potential to impact hosts’ body condition, elevate physiological responses, and ultimately lead increased mortality. Host-parasite interactions are tied ecological life-history traits of hosts. While montane birds susceptible avian blood parasites, few studies simultaneously assessed how inter- intra-specific hosts influence their probability parasite infection. In this study, we screened for parasites across 214 individuals from 51 species at two sites,...
We investigated whether Chinese children who have migrated from the countryside to city a sense of belonging their hometown or current place residence. measured both explicit and implicit using Sense Belonging Questionnaire (SBQ; Sun, 2007) Brief Implicit Association Test (BIAT; Sriram & Greenwald, 2009). found that there was discrepancy between these children's cognition: they had an cities in which lived previous homes countryside. Our findings may help migrant adapt life by leading...
In this study we investigated the television cognition of 53 “left-behind” children. We examined explicit using Television Virtual and Real Life Questionnaire (Geng & Zhou, 2011) used Brief Implicit Association Test (BIAT; Sriram Greenwald, 2009) to examine implicit toward virtual real life. The results showed that left-behind children in our had weak abilities discriminate between life relatively strong other words, their discrimination were different. Based on findings, give...
