In this study, an all optical 4‐to‐2 encoder have been proposed which has four input and three output ports. The structure can generate a 2‐bit binary code considering port is active. In this paper combining a square lattice photonic crystal with 12-fold quasicrystal, we proposed new design for an optical channel-drop filter. Our structure has transmission efficiency very close to 1 and the band width quality factor values are 4.5 nm 344. After designing filter investigated effect of different parameters on output wavelength It been shown that by changing dielectric rods' refractive index, radius initial rods quasicrystal can obtain wavelengths
