ABSTRACT A study to evaluate the resistance of B. microplus active principles cypermethrin, deltamethrin and chlorpyriphos was performed together with survey tick control practices used in 12 farms located Vale do Paraíba Region, São Paulo, Brazil. RESUMO Foi realizado um levantamento sobre as práticas adotadas no controle do carrapato em 40 propriedades localizadas Município de Pindamonhangaba, Vale Paraíba, São Paulo. Os questionários aplicados aos produtores ano 2004 revelaram que os produtos à base amitraz são mais utilizados na região, seguidos pela associação organofosforado com piretróide e pelas lactonas macrocíclicas. A maioria dos (95%) realizou tratamento carrapaticida terapêutico sem o conhecimento principais grupos carrapaticidas.
