We compared the accuracy and precision of non-invasive Nexfin® device for determining systolic, diastolic, mean arterial pressure pulse variation, with blood values measured from a radial artery catheter in 19 patients following upper abdominal surgery. Measurements were taken at baseline fluid loading. Pooled data results pressures showed no difference between two measurement modalities. Bland–Altman analysis variation significant differences obtained Nexfin finger cuff technology (mean...

Psychophysiological measurement is rapidly emerging as a new window into behavior in organizations. Such measures, which involve recording bioelectric event potentials on the surface of skin, offer novel way to examine variables that cannot be directly reported or observed. Within this domain, sophisticated cardiovascular measures such heart rate variability (HRV) and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) are particularly promising they accessible, non-invasive, applicable both field laboratory...

A popular assumption holds that task-related disagreements during group decision-making may enhance decision quality because they guarantee multiple alternatives are brought to bear. Ample research shows, however, task conflict often cause frustration and lead inferior decision-making. To reconcile this paradox of conflict, in two studies we apply the biopsychosocial model challenge threat (BPSM; J. Blascovich, 2008) examine how impact a on making varies when members feel challenged or...
