As an emerging carbon dioxide (CO2) capture technology, separating CO2 from industrial gases with ionic liquids is increasingly attracting remarkable interests. In this paper, the research progress on reviewed particular attention viewpoint of potential applications. We investigate and compare capacities pure liquids, including conventional task-specific liquid-based mixtures. The mechanisms chemisorption physisorption are explained experimental characteristics molecular simulation, which...

Predicting the viscosity of ionic liquids (ILs) is crucial for their applications in chemical and related industries. In this study, a large data set experimental ILs with wide range (7.83–142 000 cP), pressure (1–3000 bar), temperature (258.15–395.32 K) are employed to build predictive models. The structures cations anions 89 optimized, Sσ-profiles descriptors calculated using quantum chemistry method. Two new models developed by extreme learning machine (ELM) intelligence algorithm...

In recent decades, ionic liquids (ILs) have been developed as an ideal and reversible decarbonization solvent. However, some pitfalls, such the low CO2 capacity high viscosity of ILs, limit their further scale up industrial application. Therefore, in this work, three novel functional ILs [N8881][NIA], [N8881][For], [N8881][Ac] were synthesized after using a molecular design method to capture at 303.15–333.15 K pressures 1000 kPa. The experimental results illustrate that [N8881][NIA] presents...

In multi-component lipid membranes, phase separation can lead to the formation of domains. The morphology fluid-like domains has been rationalized in terms membrane elasticity and line tension. We show that solid-like is governed by different physics, instead reflects molecular ordering lipids. An understanding this link opens new possibilities for rational design patterned membranes.

Abstract BACKGROUND Aqueous solutions of amine are considered to be effective absorbents for CO 2 capture. Special attention is increasingly being given developing efficient solvents with both high absorption rate and loading RESULTS A novel 2‐[(3‐aminopropyl)methylamino]ethanol ( HMPDA ) containing a primary amino group tertiary was screened improve the performance. The equilibrium in aqueous solution found 1.65 mol −1 at 313 K 1 MPa , which larger than those conventional amines like...

We study model membranes in the form of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) composed two saturated lipids with different hydrophilic headgroups or hydrophobic chain lengths. Lateral phase separation lipid bilayer causes solid-like 'gel' domains to nucleate and grow fluid membrane. shape size these as well their growth interactions.

Currently, there is strong interest in carbon capture and absorption as a means of reducing dioxide emissions combating climate change. Unfortunately, the current traditional methods to achieve such goals are not economical, because they require huge absorption–desorption plant with high investment operating costs recycle rates chemical absorbers.
