Evaluation of possible effects underwater sound on aquatic life requires quantification the field. A marine source and propagation modelling workshop took place in June 2022, whose objectives were to facilitate evaluation models identify relevant metrics for environmental impact assessment. The scope included model verification (model-model comparison) validation (model-measurement multiple sources, including airguns, a low-frequency multi-beam echo sounder, surface vessel. Many insects are well adapted to long-distance migration despite the larger energetic costs of flight for small body sizes. To optimize wing design next-generation flying micro-robots, we analyse butterfly shapes and orientations at full scale using numerical simulations in a low-speed wind tunnel 2, 3.5 5 m s −1 . The results indicate that which maximize span lead highest glide performance, with lift drag ratios up 6.28, while spreading fore-wings forward can increase maximum produced thus...

Abstract We explore the potential of enhancing LLM performance in astronomy-focused question-answering through targeted, continual pre-training. By employing a compact 7B-parameter LLaMA-2 model and focusing exclusively on curated set astronomy corpora—comprising abstracts, introductions, conclusions—we achieve notable improvements specialized topic comprehension. While general LLMs like GPT-4 excel broader scenarios due to superior reasoning capabilities, our findings suggest that...
