Tiny-machine learning (TinyML) and artificial intelligence-of-things (AIoT) present new opportunities for machine-intelligent applications with stringent energy constraints. To conserve system energy, high-power devices stay dormant are woken up only when an event is detected by a low-power always-on detector: which can be implemented analog compute in memory (ACIM). However, there tradeoff between the inference accuracy nonideality ACIM designs, limiting applicable AIoT applications....

The purpose of the present study is twofold: (1) To examine whether syntactic category constraint can determine semantic resolution Chinese ambiguous words; and (2) to investigate alternative meanings homographs influence subordinate bias effect (SBE) during lexical ambiguity resolution. In study, four types biased (NN, VV, VN, NV) were embedded into syntactically semantically subordinate-biased sentences. Each homograph was assigned a frequency-matched unambiguous word as control, which...

A quick and reliable test of vocabulary knowledge is a vital component many studies looking at range language processing skills. Recent proliferation online (web-based) research has generated growing need for open-access tests that can be administered online. This data report presents the newly developed 30-item Web-based Open-access Reliable Decision on Synonyms (WORDS) English Vocabulary Test. In Experiment 1, we tested 109 participants (age range: 18-69 years) an initial set 51 potential...

The evaluation of large language models (LLMs) has drawn substantial attention in the field recently. This work focuses on evaluating LLMs a Chinese context, specifically, for Traditional which been largely underrepresented existing benchmarks. We present TMLU, holistic suit tailored assessing advanced knowledge and reasoning capability LLMs, under context Taiwanese Mandarin. TMLU consists an array 37 subjects across social science, STEM, humanities, Taiwan-specific content, others, ranging...

The present study investigated how increased right-hemisphere (RH) responses in healthy older adults during syntactic processing, a highly left-lateralized function younger adults, are modulated by callosal integrity. Syntactic phrase violations Taiwan Mandarin were presented to either the left or right visual field with event-related potentials (ERPs) measured. Individual participant’s microstructural tissue integrity of corpus callosum was measured diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). Younger...

This paper presents a primary study and its results of the thermo-electric field in steel strip with multiple cracks under electric current. As result, hot spot exists at crack tip due to Joule heating effect. When gap between two is relatively small, spots tips may not be obvious. It disturb detection.
