This paper investigates the effect of varying solid alkali activators on fresh and hardened properties microstructural changes one-part geopolymers (OPGs). Single binary were used to activate high calcium fly ash. The either solely sodium metasilicate (Na2SiO3) or a combination aluminate (NaAlO2) (Na2SiO3). OPG activated with anhydrous Na2SiO3 achieved an excellent 28-day compressive strength 83.6 MPa while NaAlO2 attained 45.1 MPa. Na2SiO3-activated demonstrated better fluidity than due...

The formulation and flexural properties of thin fly ash geopolymers with thickness merely 10 mm replacement ladle furnace slag to in geopolymer were presented. was discussed terms NaOH molarity, solid aluminosilicates-to-liquid alkali activator (S/L) mass ratio, (Na2SiO3/NaOH) ratio. Thin strength Young's modulus 6.2 MPa 0.14 GPa, respectively, obtained by using 12 M NaOH, S/L ratio 2.5 Na2SiO3/NaOH 4.0. A high implemented for synthesis produce a more viscous slurry which helped retain the...

This research uses low alkali activator content and cold pressing technique for fly ash-based geopolymers formation under room temperature condition. The were prepared using four different parameters: ash/alkali ratio, sodium hydroxide concentration, silicate/sodium ratio force. results indicated that the compressive strength (114.2 MPa) flexural (29.9 of maximised at a 5.5, 14 M 1.5 force 5 tons (pressing stress 100.0 MPa 155.7 samples, respectively). degree reaction (40.1%) enhanced...

Thermal performance, combustibility, and fire propagation of fly ash-metakaolin (FA-MK) blended geopolymer with the addition aluminum triphosphate, ATP (Al(H2PO4)3), monoaluminium phosphate, MAP (AlPO4) were evaluated in this paper. To prepare mix, ash metakaolin a ratio 1:1 added range 0–3% by weight. The fire/heat resistance was comparing residual compressive strengths after elevated temperature exposure. Besides, combustibility tests conducted to examine thermal performance applicability...

Abstract One-part geopolymer utilized dry activator(s) which undergo geopolymerization by “just add water” mechanism. There are wide varieties of binders to develop one-part geopolymer. This work presents an investigation fresh and hardened properties fly ash-based activated mixture anhydrous sodium metasilicate (Na 2 SiO 3 ) with carbonate CO ). The ratios alkali activator-to-fly ash (AA/FA) were set as 0.15, 0.20 0.25. substitution Na was /Na ratio 1. Setting time examined through Vicat...

This study investigated the sustainability aspect of fly ash (FA)-based one-part geopolymers (OPGs) with various combinations and amount alkali activators (AA). The three groups OPG were: M-OPG activated solely sodium metasilicate-anhydrous (Na2SiO3), MH-OPG Na2SiO3 hydroxide (NaOH), MC-OPG carbonate (Na2CO3). compressive strength, embodied carbon, carbon index, energy index were identified. Test result shows that AA/FA ratio 0.20 attained 83 MPa 75 strengths, respectively. 0.15 72 strength....

Cold-pressing method is beneficial in reducing the porosity of geopolymer matrix, but low liquid volume will result unreacted aluminosilicate materials. This problem can be resolved by increasing sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration. paper thus investigates effect NaOH concentration on properties cold-pressed geopolymer.
