Abstract. Low-cost sensors offer an attractive solution to the challenge of establishing affordable and dense spatio-temporal air quality monitoring networks with greater mobility lower maintenance costs. These low-cost reasonably consistent measurements but require in-field calibration improve agreement regulatory instruments. In this paper, we report results a deployment study on network six devices built using Alphasense O3 (OX-B431) NO2 (NO2-B43F) electrochemical gas sensors. The were...

The shielding of applications using trusted execution environments (TEEs) can provide strong security guarantees in untrusted cloud environments. When executing I/O operations, today's shielded frameworks, however, exhibit performance and limitations: they assign resources to the path inefficiently, perform redundant data copies, use host stacks with risks overheads. This prevents TEEs from running modern I/O-intensive that require high-performance networking storage.

Lightweight virtual machines (VMs) are prominently adopted for improved performance and dependability in cloud environments. To reduce boot up times resource utilisation, they usually "pre-baked" with only the minimal kernel userland strictly required to run an application. This introduces a fundamental trade-off between advantages of lightweight VMs available services within VM, leaning towards former. We propose VMSH, hypervisor-agnostic abstraction that enables on-demand attachment...

Computation Storage Architectures (CSA) are increasingly adopted in the cloud for near data processing, where underlying storage devices/servers now equipped with heterogeneous cores which enable computation offloading to data. While CSA is a promising high-performance architecture cloud, general analytics also presents significant security and policy compliance (e.g., GDPR) challenges untrusted environments. In this paper, we present IronSafe, secure policy-compliant query processing system...

Software-defined networks (SDNs) have been recognized as the next-generation networking paradigm that decouples centralised control plane from data forwarding elements. The multi-layer hierarchical SDN functionalities can be extended to optical a which is called Software Defined Optical Network (SDON). In SDON, logical over and global access of all components make network routing more easier. this paper, we propose Physical-layer-impairment-aware Adaptive Routing (PAR) address problem in...

Abstract. Rising awareness of the health risks posed by elevated levels ground-level O3 and NO2 have led to an increased demand for affordable dense spatio-temporal air quality monitoring networks. Low-cost sensors used as a part Internet Things (IoT) platforms offer attractive solution with greater mobility lower maintenance costs, can supplement compliance regulatory stations. These commodity low-cost reasonably high accuracy but require in-field calibration improve precision. In this...
