Hydrophobic octyl moieties have been grafted in various densities onto the carboxylic acid functions of xanthan under its ordered conformation. The outcoming amphiphilic and associative properties were studied by fluorescence spectroscopy rheology. Results showed that conformation is not affected chemical modification remains same as native one. Additionally, derivatives do show any viscoelastic enhancement; nevertheless, their dynamics strongly slowed down: higher grafting density, slower...

Abstract A methodology, particularly well adapted to the evaluation of cosmetic creams containing various texturing agents, is defined here using S pectrum D escriptive nalysis method. The objectives were describe and understand contributions agents texture attributes oil‐in‐water emulsions. study focused on eight hydrophilic polymers, either natural (e.g., xanthan), semi‐synthetic hydroxypropyl guar) or synthetic carbomer), incorporated each one in an o/w emulsion. Eight selected precisely...

Abstract Background The work is aimed at the development of a methodology to characterize tactile properties topical products during application. Specific attention was paid study residual left surface skin. This approach interestingly used better understand formulation factors governing skinfeel preparations. Materials and Methods Cosmetic pharmaceutical were selected based on their various texture, galenic form (gel or emulsion), composition (polymer as texturing agent). Key texture...
