Abstract. The EU Horizon 2020 project COREWIND (COst REduction and increase performance of floating WIND technology) has developed two platforms for the new International Energy Agency (IEA) Wind 15 MW reference wind turbine. One design – “WindCrete” is a spar floater, other “Activefloat” semi-submersible floater; both designs are made concrete. In this work floaters introduced with their aero–hydro–servo-elastic numerical models, responses in static dynamic simulations investigated....

The use of directly modulated lasers (DMLs) is attractive in low-power, cost-constrained short-reach optical links. However, their limited modulation bandwidth can induce waveform distortion, undermining data throughput. Traditional distortion mitigation techniques have relied mainly on the separate training transmitter-side pre-distortion and receiver-side equalization. This approach overlooks potential gains obtained by simultaneous optimization transmitter (constellation pulse shaping)...

Abstract Background: Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are a class of cancer therapeutics comprised linker-payload conjugated to monoclonal antibody targeting tumor-associated antigen (TAA), enable the delivery cytotoxic payload cells. Presently, there is need for improved in vitro models that better recapitulate vivo tumor tissue complexity aid screening and evaluation novel ADCs during preclinical development. Specifically, we have developed 3D from cell lines yielding spheroids rapid,...

End-to-end learning has become a popular method for joint transmitter and receiver optimization in optical communication systems. Such approach may require differentiable channel model, thus hindering the of links based on directly modulated lasers (DMLs). This is due to DML behavior large-signal regime, which no analytical solution available. In this paper, problem addressed by developing comparing machine learning-based surrogate models. The models are quantitatively assessed terms root...

The large Bunyavirales order includes several families of viruses with a segmented ambisense (−) RNA genome and cytoplasmic life cycle that starts by synthesizing viral mRNA. initiation transcription, which is common to all members, relies on an endonuclease activity responsible for cap-snatching. In La Crosse virus, orthobunyavirus, it has previously been shown the cap-snatching resides in N-terminal domain L protein. Orthobunyaviruses are transmitted arthropods cause diseases cattle....

Existing implementations of face recognition systems are created under controlled environments and tested using a limited amount data. Also, these techniques have high computational cost which forbids incremental learning that is required in real-time. We propose gender estimation implementation based on Multinomial Naive Bayes Local Binary Patterns. The method modern age dataset with realistic examples. In order to get state-of-the-art results, Adaboost also proposed tested.

Abstract We presents a PHD filtering approach to estimate the state of an unknown number persons in video sequence. Persons are represented by moving blobs, which tracked across different frames using first-order moment approximation posterior density. The filter is good alternative standard multi-target tracking algorithms, since overrides making explicit associations between measurements and locations. recursive method has linear complexity targets, so it also potential benefit scaling...

Abstract Estimating the current stage of grape ripeness is a crucial step in wine making and becomes especially important during harvesting. Visual inspection seeds one method to achieve this goal without performing chemical analysis, however prone failure. In paper, we propose an unsupervised visual system for estimation using Dirichlet Mixture Model (DMM). Experimental analysis real world data demonstrates that our approach can be used estimate different stages from unlabeled catalogs.

Abstract The efficiency and robustness of modern visual tracking systems are largely dependent on the object detection system at hand. Bernoulli Multi-Bernoulli filters have been proposed for without explicit detections (image observations). However, these previous approaches do not fully exploit discriminative features tracking.
