A systematic method to improve the quality (Q) factor of RF integrated inductors is presented in this paper. The proposed based on layout optimization minimize series resistance inductor coil, taking into account both ohmic losses, due conduction currents, and magnetically induced eddy currents. technique particularly useful when applied which fabrication process includes integration substrate removal. However, it also applicable low-loss substrates. optimizes width metal strip for each turn...

A film of gas sensitive ZnO nanoparticles has been coupled with a low-power micro light plate (μLP) to achieve NO2-parts-per-billion conductometric sensor operating at room temperature. In this μLP configuration, an InGaN-based LED (emitting 455 nm) is integrated few hundred nanometers distance from the material, leading photoactivation well controlled, uniform, and high irradiance conditions, very low electrical power needs. The response curves different NO2 concentrations as function...

Nanoscale heterostructures based on WO3–x nanoneedles functionalized with Fe2O3 nanoparticles are integrated directly into flexible polymer-based transducing platforms via aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition. Results demonstrate that the incorporation of at surface enhances electronic and sensing properties WO3–x, providing a 6-fold increase in sensitivity to toluene low cross-sensitivity hydrogen ethanol. These enhanced-sensing comparable those obtained functionalization precious...

Chemoresistive micromachined gas sensors with bottom-electrode configuration and based on Pt-functionalized tungsten oxide nanowires are fabricated. The performance reliability of three types devices different electrode gap (5, 10 15 μm) analyzed in dry humid ambient towards various analytes (H2, NO2, EtOH, CO). Results demonstrate an improved response, sensitivity, stability better dynamic the response for 5 μm, showing up to 7-fold higher responses 32-fold faster hydrogen compared or μm....

We present a new method for vapor deposition of columnar ZnO structures in the form rods on various substrates without need substrate modification with catalyst seed particles and at relatively low temperatures compared to other methods. These are used photodegradation stearic acid (C18H36O2) photoactivated detection gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), ethanol (C2H6O), toluene (C7H8), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) room temperature, showing improved selectivity tests performed themoactivated mode.

We report a miniaturized device integrating photoactive material with highly efficient Light Emitting Diode light source. This so-called micro plate configuration allows for maximizing the irradiance impinging on material, minimum power consumption, excellent uniformity, and accurate control of illumination. demonstrate these advantages an example application: photoactivated gas sensors consumption as low 30 μW (this is 1000 times lower than best figures reported to date). Gas microsensors based on zinc oxide structures with rod- and needle-like morphology, both integrated via a non-catalyzed vapor-solid mechanism enabled using aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition, are developed. Analyses of the films SEM, TEM, XPS, water contact angle indicate higher concentration oxygen vacancies, aspect ratio roughness factor for needles than rods. sensing tests towards hydrogen carbon monoxide demonstrate reduced humidity-interference, responses to analytes...
