A computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system that characterizes nodules in medical images can help radiologists determine its malignancy. Preparing large volumes of labeled data for CAD systems, however, requires advanced knowledge. This makes it extremely difficult to develop such despite their growing demand. In this paper, we propose a new training method build an image classifier characterization utilizing pseudo-labels, i.e., labels automatically retrieved from radiology reports. report is...

Worldwide, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. To manage nodules, radiologists observe computed tomography images, review various imaging findings, and record these in radiology reports. The report contents should be high quality uniform regardless radiologist. Here, we propose an artificial intelligence system that automatically generates descriptions related to nodules images. Our consists image recognition method for extracting contents–namely, bronchopulmonary...

We report preliminary natural circular dichroism (NCD) spectra of amino acids, Land D-histidine, thin films in the nitrogen K-edge energy region. NCD peaks were observed at 399.9 eV and assigned to 1s → π* transition atoms imidazole ring. Imidazole ring is positioned side chain distant from asymmetric carbon. This result suggests that spectroscopy soft X-ray region can selectively pick up information on local structure around specific atoms, regardless position molecules. It interesting view...
