Abstract The presented paper discusses the production of radioactive ion beams francium, radium, and actinium from thick uranium carbide (UC x) targets at ISOLDE, CERN. This study focuses on release curves extractable yields radium isotopes. source temperature was varied in order to relative contributions surface laser ionization beams. experimental results are form parameters. Representative per µC for 222−231 Ac, several Ra Fr isotopes mass ranges 214≤A≤233 205≤A≤231 respectively....

The extremely neutron-deficient isotope $^{179}\mathrm{Au}$ has been studied by a combination of in-beam $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray and isomeric-decay spectroscopy. For spectroscopy, the recoil-isomer tagging technique was employed, using known 3/${2}^{\ensuremath{-}}, {T}_{1/2}=328$ ns isomer. A new rotational band, associated with unfavored signature band $1{h}_{9/2}\ensuremath{\bigoplus}2{f}_{7/2}$ proton-intruder configuration, revealed. previously unknown, high-spin isomeric state an...
