We investigate the characteristics of electromagnetic wave propagation in uniaxially anisotropic left-handed media. discuss mainly under what conditions anomalous reflection or refraction shall occur at interface when propagating waves pass from one isotropic regular medium into another anistotropic and transmission an evanescent is transmitted through a slab medium. show that media are significantly different

Thymol is a natural plant-derived compound that has been widely used in pharmaceutical and food preservation applications. However, the antifungal mechanism for thymol against phytopathogens remains unclear. In this study, we identified action of Fusarium graminearum, an economically important phytopathogen showing severe resistance to traditional chemical fungicides. The sensitivity on different F. graminearum isolates was screened. hyphal growth, as well conidial production germination,...

In this research, the antifungal role of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) on postharvest pathogens Aspergillus niger and Penicillium italicum growing fruits under culture conditions defined media was investigated. Our results show that H2S, released by sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) effectively reduced decay induced A. P. italicum. Furthermore, H2S inhibited spore germination, germ tube elongation, mycelial growth, produced abnormal contractions when fungi were grown in Petri plates. Further studies...

Aspergillus flavus is a well-known pathogenic fungus for both crops and human beings. The acquisition of resistance to azoles by A. leading more failures occurring in the prevention infection flavus. In this study, we found that thymol, one major chemical constituents essential oil Monarda punctate, had efficient fungicidal activity against led sporular lysis. Further studies indicated thymol treatment induced generation ROS NO spores, whereas accumulation was far later than response thymol....

Abstract With growing concerns over agricultural waste management and sustainable protein sources, insect farming has emerged as a promising valorization strategy. However, the effects of waste‐based diets on growth, gut microbiota, flavor quality edible insects remain unclear. This study investigates how different feeds influence biological characteristics Zophobas morio Fabricius (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae), providing insights into its potential applications in recycling production. Over...

We investigate the possibility of preparing left-handed materials in metallic magnetic granular composites. Based on effective medium approximation, we show that by incorporating nanoparticles into an appropriate insulating matrix and controlling directions magnetization components their volume fraction, it may be possible to prepare a composite low eddy current loss is for electromagnetic waves propagating some special direction polarization frequency region near ferromagnetic resonance...

A bacterial strain EMS with the capability of degrading microcystins (MCs) was isolated from Lake Taihu, China. The bacterium tentatively identified as a Stenotrophomonas sp. could completely consume MC-LR and MC-RR within 24 hours at concentration 0.7 µg/mL 1.7 µg/mL, respectively. degradation by occurred preferentially in an alkaline environment. In addition, mlrA gene involved detected EMS. Due to limited literature this has rare homologues. Sequencing analysis translated protein...

Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a typical marine bacterium, which often contaminates seafood and poses health risk to consumers. Some non-thermal sterilization technologies, such as ultrasonic field (UF) blue light (BL) irradiation, have been widely used in clinical practice due their efficiency, safety, avoidance of drug resistance, but application food preservation has not extensively studied. This study aims investigate the effect BL on V. culture media ready-to-eat fresh salmon, evaluate...
