Background: A number of synthetic scaffolds, along with natural products, have been identified as potent antioxidants. The present study deals the evaluation varyingly substituted, medicinally distinct class compounds “chalcones and bis-chalcones” for their antioxidant potential. Methods: In vitro radical scavenging activities were performed on a series chalcones 1- 13 bis-chalcones 14-18. Results: All molecules 1-18 revealed pronounced 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2ʹ-...

Reserpine is an indole alkaloid, antipsychotic, and antihypertensive drug that has been used for the control of high blood pressure relief psychotic symptoms. It was first isolated in 1952 from dried root Rauwolfia serpentina whose molecular structure established 1953 natural configuration published 1955. The total synthesis reserpine reported by Woodward 1958. This review article updates current multistep synthetic approaches toward product its analogues.
