The formation and development of the southern Altaids is controversial with regard to its accretionary orogenesis continental growth. Altay-East Junggar orogenic collage North Xinjiang, China, offers a special natural laboratory resolve this puzzle. Three tectonic units were juxtaposed, roughly from South, in study area. northern part (Chinese Altay), composed variably deformed metamorphosed Paleozoic sedimentary, volcanic, granitic rocks, interpreted as Japan-type island arc...
Located in the southwestern Qinling Mountains of central China near northern margin yangtze plate, Bikou terrane has long been controversial regarding how it relates to Late Precambrian tectonic history plate. The igneous and sedimentary succession variously interpreted represent either a Meso-Neoproterozoic rift assemblage, or subduction arc assemblage. Our recent work involving petrologygeochemistrysedimentary basin analysis strongly supports interpretation. In addition, SHRIMP U-Pb zircon...

Abstract The cause of magmatic tempo in an active plate margin remains controversial, partly due to lack structural analysis. During 130–105 Ma, the magmatism South China Block (SCB) was significantly reduced (lull) and restricted around Changle‐Nan'ao Belt (CNB) while highly (flare‐up) North China. For unveiling tectonic role on magmatism, a multidisciplinary study including field microscopic observations, magnetic fabric measurement (AMS), zircon/monazite dating conducted plutons with...
Garnet-bearing mafic granulite and amphibolite exposed as lenses, boudins, or interlayers within metasediments in the Qingshigou area, Dunhuang block, southernmost Central Asian orogenic belt, record important information for understanding tectono-metamorphic evolution of subduction collision zones southern belt during mid-Paleozoic. Three stages metamorphic assemblages (M1, M2, M3) are recognized high- medium-pressure amphibolite. In high-pressure granulite, prograde assemblage (M1) is...
The Bikou terrane of central China is located within the southwest Qinling Mountains along northwest margin Yangtze Plate. consists a volcanic assemblage, Group, and correlative volcaniclastic turbidite sequence, Hengdan Group. U‐Pb SHRIMP detrital zircon dating 181 grains collected from Group indicates ages ca. 850 to 700 Ma, with peak near 770 Ma. Given predominance volcanic, single‐cycle zircons thick succession coarsening‐upward marine sediments, sequence best interpreted as fore‐arc...
Abstract: Located in the eastern part of East Qinling molybdenum belt, Donggou deposit is a superlarge porphyry discovered recent years. The authors performed highly precise dating mineralized and ores deposit. A SHRIMP U‐Pb zircon aluminous A‐type granite‐porphyry gave rock‐forming age 112±1 Ma, ICP‐MS Re‐Os analyses molybdenite from yielded model ages ranging 116.5±1.7 to 115.5±1.7 Ma for obtained by two methods are quite close, suggesting that rocks formed approximately at same time....
Abstract The Bikou volcanic terrane is predominated by subalkaline tholeiitic lavas. Rock samples display lower initial ratios of Sr and Nd, 0.701248–0.704413 0.511080–0.512341 respectively. 207 Pb 208 are significantly enriched in the Most have positive ε Nd , which indicates that magma was derived from EM‐type mantle source, while a few with negative indicate there contamination evolution. Magma differentiation demonstrated variations LREE LILE depletion to enrichment. Additionally,...
Abstract: The Laocheng granitoid pluton is located in the South Qinling tectonic domain of erogenic belt, southern Shaanxi Province, and consists chiefly quartz diorite, granodiorite monzogranite. A LA‐ICP‐MS zircon U‐Pb isotopic dating, conjunction with cathodoluminescence images, reveals that diorite were emplaced from 220 Ma to 216 Ma, while monzogranite was at ∼210 Ma. In‐situ Hf analyses show ε ( t ) values range –8.1 +1.3, single‐stage model ages 809 1171 are –14.5 +16.7 189 1424 These...
The Tianshan orogen is divided into the Northern, Central and Southern tectonic zones by northern southern sutures on both sides of Tectonic Zone. eastern segment Zone characterized presence numerous Precambrian metamorphic blocks unconformably overlain Ordovician–Silurian late Palaeozoic strata. Kumishi Pargantag are largest older in Zone, consisting mainly granitoids sedimentary rocks greenschist to amphibolite facies. There two major lithological assemblages granitoids: (1) quartz...
