Senescent retinal pigment epithelial cells play a key role in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD); however, the mechanisms underlying angiogenic ability of these remain unclear. Herein, we investigated effects senescent adult cell line-19 (ARPE-19) on wound healing, migration and survival, tube formation abilities human umbilical vein endothelial (HUVECs). Additionally, used Brown Norway rats to establish laser-induced choroidal neovascularization (CNV) model for further...
The heating-induced transformation of Co3O4nanoparticles to CoO at 350–400 °C was monitored in nanoscale detail byin situTEM; DFT calculations predict a considerable net ferromagnetic moment originating from the Co3O4/CoO interface.
Anatase TiO2 nanocrystals (NCs) play a vital role in photocatalytic applications due to their high catalytic activity and gas-sensing chemical sensitivity. Here, we report the transformation at elevated temperature of anatase nanorods (NRs) with length 25 nm into rock-salt TiO nanoparticles an average size 9.2 ± 2.1 investigated by means situ heating transmission electron microscope. The NRs were completely transformed titanium monoxide NCs after 1200 °C. We also identified intermediate...
Nanoscale forms of molybdenum trioxide have found widespread use in optoelectronic, sensing, and battery applications. Here, we investigate the thermal evolution micrometer-sized particles during situ heating vacuum using transmission electron microscopy observed drastic structural chemical changes that are strongly dependent on rate. Rapid (flash heating) MoO3 to a temperature 600 °C resulted large-scale formation MoO2(001) nanosheets were formed wide area around reducing particles, within...
Highly crystalline, organic-solvent-dispersible titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanorods (NRs) present promising chemicophysical properties in many diverse applications. In this paper, based on a modified procedure from literature, TiO2 NRs were synthesized via ligand-assisted nonhydrolytic sol-gel route using oleic acid as the solvent, reagent, and ligand (IV) isopropoxide precursor. This produced monodisperse NRs, well some semi-spherical titania nanocrystals (NCs) that could be removed by...
Complete denture, as an important restoration method for edentulism, is difficult to study beginners, especially in linking the theory with clinical practice. This was aimed compare teaching effects between case-based learning combined Rain Classroom and traditional lecture course of complete denture prosthesis undergraduate interns. In a called "Problems treatment strategies after wearing", interns were divided into two groups: one lecture-based PowerPoint slideshow (the control group, n =...
Herein, the electrochemical synthesis of WO3 nanoplatelet powder is demonstrated in a novel electrolyte composed ethylene glycol (EG), H2O and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EmimBF4). On applying an anodization potential 40 V to at room temperature, W substrate efficiently transformed into dispersed WO3·2H2O powder, not thin film on as usually occurs. The interaction between EG water during breakdown discussed, mechanism for formation nanoplatelets proposed.
Emerging evidence indicates that postmenopausal women with periodontitis have aggravated inflammation and prolonged course, the detailed mechanisms largely unknown. This study aimed to determine pathogenic role of aberrant extracellular vesicles due imbalanced-polarized macrophages explore therapeutic approach for in individuals. Periodontitis ovariectomized (OVX) mouse models were established simulate women. Small (sEVs) derived from isolated, characterized tracked. Both vitro vivo...
Abstract Crystalline titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) semiconductor nanorods (NRs) feature several optical properties, such as birefringence combined with high refractive indexes and a wide bandgap precluding absorption in visible‐light spectrum, making them attractive for many applications optoelectronics. Dispersing these NRs suitable solvents creates inorganic liquid crystals (LCs) offering enhanced collective orientation‐dependent which can additionally be utilized to manipulate behavior....
Penicillium italicum (P. italicum), a citrus blue mold, is pathogenic fungus that greatly affects the postharvest quality of fruits with significant economic loss. Our previous research showed 2-methoxy-1, 4-naphthoquinone (MNQ) inhibited growth italicum. However, water dispersibility MNQ will limit its further application. Herein, we synthesized MNQ-based carbon dots (2-CDs) better dispersibility, which potential inhibitory effect on P. (MIC = 2.8 μg/mL) than 5.0 μg/mL). Transcriptomics...
WO3 is a versatile material occurring in many polymorphs, and used nanostructured form applications, including photocatalysis, gas sensing, energy storage. We investigated the thermal evolution of cubic-phase nanocrystals with size range 5–25 nm by means situ heating transmission electron microscope (TEM), found distinct pathways for formation either 2D nanosheets or elemental W nanoparticles, depending on initial concentration deposited nanoparticles. These pristine particles were stable up...
In an oxide perovskite superlattice, Ruddlesden–Popper faults were found to form via Shockley partials bounded by basal plane stacking faults. The formation of such could facilitate the relaxation compressive strain.
Abstract Jingwenite-(Y), Y2Al2V24+(SiO4)O4(OH)4, the first V-HREE-bearing silicate mineral discovered in nature, is an abundant component of a sediment-hosted stratiform Cu (SSC) deposit, Yushui, South China. The occurs bedded/massive sulfide-bearing ore and associated with bornite, chalcopyrite, galena, xenotime-(Y), nolanite, thortveitite, roscoelite, barite, quartz. Optically, jingwenite-(Y) biaxial (+), α = 1.92(4), β 1.95(2), γ 1.99(3) (white light), 2V (calculated) 83°. dispersion...
The reaction of nickel acetate tetrahydrate with Schiff base 2-[(pyridin-2-ylmethylimino)methyl] phenol (HL) in a methanol–water solution, adding NaN3 as bridging ligand, yielded the complex [Ni(L)(μ1,1-N3)H2O]6·H2O. An X-ray structure determination showed that is nearly perfect hexagonal structure, and temperature (2–300 K) dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements indicated it possesses ferromagnetic behavior.
As a preprocessing step of chest Computed Tomography (CT) images, lung segmentation is significant for the diagnosis disease. The traditional watershed algorithm sensitive to noise and has drawback over-segmentation problem. This paper presents novel image method improve Watershed with maximum between-class variance (OTSU). We adopt OTSU mathematical morphology in period initial then compute function. Finally, we transform experimental results point out that this an effective parenchyma,...
