Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of topical vancomycin and povidone iodine (PI) application on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) keratitis model in rabbits.
This study investigated serum, vitreous, and anterior chamber fluid electrolyte changes, corneal thickness (CT),corneal volume (CV), (ACV), depth (ACD) as an auxiliary diagnostic method in theidentification of drowning fresh or salt water.Materials methods: The used 35 healthy, adult, male, white New Zealand rabbits, seperated into five groups (control, saltwaterdrowning (SWD), saltwater immersion (SWI), freshwater (FWD), (FWI)). CT, CV, ACV, ACDmeasurements were made with Pentacam...
Purpose: Investigation of the acute effects cigarette smoking on eye using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) young healthy non-smoking male subjects.Materials and methods: The right 25 subjects were included in this study. Selected parameters macular circumpapillary vasculature measured, including flow indices, foveal avascular zone, vessel densities macula optic disc OCTA. measurements performed first day without at 0 min, 5 30 min 60 min. Measurements repeated same regime...
Bilateral acute depigmentation of the iris (BADI) is a rare disease characterized by atrophy. Although it can be self-limiting, sometimes progressive and lead to glaucoma severe vision loss. Two female patients were admitted our clinic because change in color following coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infection. After exclusion other etiologies eye examination, BADI was diagnosed both cases. Thus, shown that COVID-19 may also involved etiology BADI.
The aim was to evaluate subjects with a moderate cup disc ratio using optical coherence tomograph (OCT) and Heidelberg retina (HRT) 3.We included 80 patients early glaucoma nonglaucomatous cup/disc (range of 0.5-0.8) this cross-sectional study. We compared results color-coded algorithms HRT 3 (Moorfields regression analysis [MRA] Glaucoma probability score [GPS]) OCT. All outputs are classified into three categories: Within normal limits (WNLs), borderline outside (ONLs). Diagnostic...
Aim: We aimed to compare the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and ganglion cell (GCL) thickness of B12 vitamin deficiency patients with healthy controls using optical coherence tomography (OCT).Methods: Forty-six (27 females / 19 males) diagnosed 46 (26 20 similar age sex were included in study.RNFL global, superotemporal, temporal, inferotemporal, superonasal, nasal inferonasal sectors GCL volume measurements central, superior, inferior, performed Spectralis-OCT device all cases.Results:...
Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) parameters in patients with moderate myopia healthy individuals retrospectively. Methods: A total 80 male aged 18-20 years were included the 40 myopic persons. All participants underwent detailed ocular examination including refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), visual acuity, biomicroscopy, OCTA measurement optic biometry measurement. Retinal, retinal nerve fiber layer...
Aim: To evaluate the short-term effects of horizontal muscle resection (Rt) or recession (Rs) surgeries on anterior and posterior segment parameters (ASPs PSPs) in strabismus patients, using Pentacam HR optical coherence tomography (OCT) devices.
Material Method: This prospective study included 21 female 17 male patients who underwent surgery (Rt Rs). ASPs were evaluated with PSPs OCT, one day before month after surgery.
Results: The mean age all was 16.52±7.90 years. Rt...
Investigating the effects of intraperitoneal carvacrol administration in rats using oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) model.A total 28 newborn Sprague Dawley were used and OIR model was created 50/10% oxygen model. The study composed four groups total. While not Group I (control group), it for Groups II, III, IV. About 0.01 mL carvacrol, bevacizumab, or 0.9% NaCl administered (IP) to all on postnatal day (PND) 14 as follows: II NaCl, III IV carvacrol. On PND 18, sacrificed their right eyes...
To evaluate the acute effects of water drinking test (WDT) on eye using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) healthy young male subjects. The study included 25 eyes subjects. Selected parameters retinal vasculature were measured, including macular flow indices, foveal avascular zone, and vessel densities (VDs) macula OCTA. The measurements taken first day without at 0 min, 30 min 60 then repeated second before after min. Paired Samples t-test measures One-way analysis variance used...
Aim: To investigate of the effect intraperitoneal (IP) quercetin and bevacizumab on oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) model in rats. Methods: In study, 28 newborn rats were used. The OIR was performed with 50/10% oxygen technique. The study consisted four groups as a control group (Group I) II, III, IV).IP injection applied to all postnatal day (PND) 14.Groups I II 0.9% NaCl, Group III IP bevacizumab, IV quercetin. All animals sacrificed PND 18. Results: Based data obtained from...
Aim: To evaluate retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, macular thickness and vessel diameter by optical coherence tomography in patients with peripheral artery disease.
Materials Methods: 35 a diagnosis of arterial disease (PAD) 32 healthy individuals (control group) were included the study. Retinal (RT), choroidal (CT) enhanced depth imaging (EDI) mode, (RNFL) vein diameters measured (OCT) device.
Results: The mean age PAH group study was 59.4±11.9 control 55.5±5.3 years. A...
An 80-year-old woman presented to our clinic with blurred visual in her right eye. On ophthalmoscopic examination, the acuity was counting fingers at 50 cm eye and 20/50 left Slitlamp biomicroscopy showed fibrous adhesion of anterior posterior capsules absence lens material Anterior capsule wrinkling also observed. The had an chamber intraocular (IOL) following complicated cataract surgery. Intraocular pressures were within normal limits both eyes. Cataracta membranacea diagnosed, vitrectomy...
