Due to the search for new methods of producing bimetallic nanoparticles, in this work, we have conducted a biological synthesis Au-CuO and CuO-ZnO nanoparticles using Cnici benedicti. The synthesized were also analyzed terms their antibacterial activity, as well influence on cell viability, two specific lines: C6 rat brain glioma (ATCC® CCL-107™) T98G human CRL-1690™). studies carried out by means Atomic Force Microscopy helped determine presence whose size was about 13 nm. 28 obtained...
The introduction of human papillomavirus vaccines revolutionized cervical cancer prevention. Our research hypothesis is that HPV vaccination affects the remission in swabs. We provide a prospective, ongoing, 24-month, non-randomized study HPV-positive women. enrolled 60 patients with positive swabs from cervix (fifty-one vaccinated nine-valent vaccine against and nine unvaccinated). Using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, we determined IgG class antibodies patients' serums. Persistent...
ObjectiveTo assess hepatitis E virus (HEV) seroprevalence in HIV patients and blood donors from one region Poland.MethodsA group of 490 persons (244 246 donors) aged 18–55 years were examined using the anti-HEV IgG assay (Wantai Biological Pharmacy Enterprise, Beijing, China). An analysis association between certain factors presence this HEV exposure marker was conducted both groups.ResultsAn seropositivity rate 50.2% found. There no difference (49.6%, 122/246) (50.8%, 124/244) (p = 0.569)....
Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) has recently been identified as an adipokine possibly involved in the development of impaired glucose metabolism. We aimed to test serum RBP4 healthy non-obese individuals and patients with well-characterized phenotype: obesity without confounding effects diabetes, metabolic syndrome or dyslipidaemia. Additionally, we examined whether is associated anthropometric parameters, insulin resistance blood lipid parameters.Twenty-eight no co-morbidities twenty-five...
Damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) molecules can initiate an immune response through Toll-like receptors (TLRs). DAMPs are released from cells as a to the extracellular danger and be by-products of tissue damage. In cancer microenvironment necrotic release debris which has potency become DAMPs. Non-small cell lung (NSCLC) is often accompanied by pleural effusion (PE), contains variety Surfactant protein A (SP-A) heat shock 70 (Hsp70) important in respiratory tract. The aim this study...
Vaccinations against human papillomavirus (HPV) are included in the primary prevention of precancerous intraepithelial lesions and HPV-related cancers. Despite undeniable effectiveness vaccination juvenile population, there is still little research on effect patients after sexual initiation. Our study aims to assess anti-HPV (L1 HPV) antibodies healthy diagnosed cervical pathology 9-valent vaccination. We provide a prospective, ongoing 12-month, non-randomised pilot which 89 subjects were...
The objective of the present study was to investigate seroprevalence HAV and HEV in Polish blood donors (BDs). One hundred ten randomly selected healthy BDs, living Wielkopolska Region were tested for anti-HAV IgG anti-HEV with commercial assays. 11.8%; detected 60.9% BDs (p < 0.0001). Consumption risky food more common anti-HEV-positive (59.1% vs. 33.3%; p = 0.01). Twelve out 20 (60%) no history travel abroad exposed HEV. Region, Poland should be regarded as a new infection-hyperendemic area Europe.
Introduction Factors associated with hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection are rarely recognized in patients on renal replacement therapy (RRT), and the results of studies inconsistent. Objectives We aimed to search for determinants HEV seroprevalence among polymorphisms interferon‑λ4 gene (IFNL4) seroclearance hepatotropic viruses (IFNL4 rs12979860, rs8099917 near IFNL4), circulating interferon λ3 (IFN‑λ3), clinical variables treated hemodialysis (HD) a HEV‑endemic region. Patients methods The...
Macrophages in malignant pleural effusions (MPEs) demonstrate a promalignant phenotype. They release mediators, which are source of inflammation within the pleura. We established vitro model proving that macrophages isolated from affect cancer cells their pro- or anti-apoptotic activity via humoral mediators. Additionally, we measured concentrations selected transcription factors cells. Pleural can apoptosis intercellular mediators trigger different signal transductors The observed effect is...
Objectives Yoga is an ancient form of physical activity (PA) that encompasses meditation, stretching and breathing techniques. Although the benefits PA associated lifestyle interventions are clear, we here addressed paucity evidence regarding specific relationship between yoga quality life (QOL) in adults Poland. We hypothesised participation could result a positive impact on QOL. Design Cross-sectional, self-administered questionnaire-based survey. Both quantitative qualitative variables...
Objectives: Human papillomavirus infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. Long-term exposure to HPV leads development high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions that can eventually transform into cervical cancer. The aim study was assess genotype distribution in patients with abnormal pap smear and provide prospective study. Material methods: We obtained material from 674 women who registered Specialist Medical Practice years 2018–2020. sample for molecular test...
Hepatitis E virus (HEV) causes travel-related but also locally acquired infections in industrialized parts of the world, including European countries. Food and blood transfusions are possible sources transmission. Infections caused by zoonotic variants (particularly HEV-3) may progress to chronic liver disease a nonnegligible proportion immunocompromised people. The aim this study was assess prevalence serological markers HEV infection 189 patients on renal replacement therapy (RRT,...
