The polyphenol content and antioxidant capacity of hyperforin hypericin-standardized H. perforatum L. extracts may vary due to the harvest time. In this work, ethanol ethanol-water air-dried lyophilized flowers L., collected throughout a vegetation season in central Poland, were studied. Air-dried had higher (371 mg GAE/g) flavonoid (160 CAE/g) content, DPPH radical scavenging (1672 DPPH/g), ORAC (5214 µmol TE/g) FRAP (2.54 mmol Fe2+/g) than (238 GAE/g, 107 CAE/g, 1287 DPPH/g, 3313 TE/g 0.31...

Geissospermum species are medically important plants due to their health-promoting effects. The objective of this study was determine the antioxidant ability and antiproliferative cytotoxic effects infusions, tinctures, ethanolic extracts reticulatum barks in relation contents total phenolics flavonoids. Seven samples were collected various regions Peruvian Amazonia. We found that amount studied products varied from 212.40 ± 0.69 1253.92 11.20 mg GAE/kg. In our there is a correlation (R2 =...

Background and Purpose Wnt binding to Frizzleds (FZD) is a crucial step that leads the initiation of signalling cascades governing multiple processes during embryonic development, stem cell regulation adult tissue homeostasis. Recent efforts have enabled us shed light on Wnt–FZD pharmacology using overexpressed HEK293 cells. However, assessing ligand at endogenous receptor expression levels important due differential behaviour in native environment. Here, we study FZD paralogue, 7 , analyse...

GPR61 is an orphan receptor that belongs to Class A of G-protein-coupled receptors. It has been reported a constitutive activity and couples Gαs. In the present study, we characterized function ligand binding by experimental molecular docking studies. We demonstrated heterologous expression in HEK293 cells enhanced cAMP synthesis response forskolin, whereas basal was unaffected. 5-(Nonyloxy)tryptamine inhibited forskolin-stimulated production GPR61-expressing cells....

RNA regulation can be performed by a second targeting molecule, such as in the microRNA mechanism. Selective 2′-hydroxyl acylation analyzed primer extension (SHAPE) probes structure of molecules and resolve RNA:protein interactions, but RNA:RNA interactions have not yet been addressed with this technique. Here, we apply SHAPE to investigate RNA-mediated binding processes RNA:RNA-RBP complexes. We use R NA:RN A b inding S HAPE (RABS) microRNA-34a ( miR-34a ) its mRNA target, silent...

A new alkaloid, geissospermiculatine was characterized in Geissospermum reticulatum A. H. Gentry bark (Apocynaceae). Here, following a simplified isolation protocol, the structure of alkaloid elucidated through GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, 1D, and 2D NMR (COSY, ROESY, HSQC, HMBC, 1H-15N HMBC). Cytotoxic properties were evaluated vitro on malignant THP-1 cells, results demonstrated that cytotoxicity (30 μg/mL) comparable with staurosporine (10 μM). Additionally, toxicity tested zebrafish (Danio rerio)...
