Much research has focused on advancing techniques for explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) to improve the utility of AI recommendations. However, metacognitive processes involved in interacting with explanations have not been fully explored. In this study, we examine effects human decisions from perspective cognitive mechanisms that evaluate correctness To accomplish this, conducted a large-scale, between-subject experiment (N=4,302) Amazon Mechanical Turk, during which each participant...

We present a novel benchmarking methodology for evaluating offline Large Language Models (LLMs) in resource-constrained mobile robotics applications. Using an Nvidia Jetson Nano platform with 4GB RAM limitation, we demonstrate the feasibility of deploying tuned ChatGPT4All robotic control tasks. The model, trained on 22,000+ ICRA proceedings papers, achieves 82% similarity to ChatGPT responses while maintaining sub-second inference time. Our evaluation framework combines TF-IDF scoring and...

Internet robots, also known as bots, have transformed the businesses and society with convenience. However, dynamics of these interactions could be under adversarial circumstances detrimental effects on network security. Bots that use domain-generation algorithms (DGAs) can generate many random domains dynamically so static domain blacklists become ineffective in preventing malicious attacks by botnets. Various families recent botnets used DGA to establish communication bots. Researchers...

e-mail scams have been around for a long time, and they are still remarkably successful. Understanding these can help combat fraud by raising public awareness improving anti-fraud technologies. We conducted an in-depth analysis of contents with mixed-method approach using machine-learning-based content qualitative analysis. identified five stories (i.e., topics) scammers used in their e-mails. Further, we explored similarities between messages from the same scammers. Our findings suggest...

Sometimes we search for simple facts. Other times relationships between concepts. While existing information retrieval systems work well searches, they are less satisfying complex inquiries because of the ill-structured nature many searches and cognitive load involved in process. Search can be improved by leveraging network concepts that maintained collaborative knowledge bases such as Wikipedia. By treating exploratory inquires networks -- then mapping documents to these concepts,...
