BiOCl nanosheets (BiOCl NSs) were synthesized by hydrolyzing a hierarchical flowerlike molecular precursor (Bin(Tu)xCl3n, Tu = thiourea). High photoactivity of {001} facets NSs was observed, and the mechanism discussed.
