Monitoring minimal residual disease is an important way to identify patients with acute myeloid leukemia at high risk of relapse. In this study we investigated the prognostic potential monitoring by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis NPM1 mutations in treated AMLCG 1999, 2004 and 2008 trials. Minimal was monitored - aplasia, after induction therapy, consolidation during follow-up 588 samples from 158 positive for A, B D (with a sensitivity 10−6). One hundred...

Midazolam was applied transmucosally in 47 children randomly assigned to three different groups. Group N received 0.2 mg·kg −1 nasally, group R 0.5 rectally, and S sublingually. All groups were treated 60 min prior a planned i.v. puncture with EMLA ® . Reliable valid psychological parameters (such as emotional situation, shivering, awareness, respiratory rate facial colour) scored after premedication before puncture, 20 until induction. A blood sample drawn 10, 30 the levels of midazolam,...

High quality primary care is a foundational element of effective health services. Internationally, physicians (general practitioners (GPs), family doctors) are experiencing significant workload pressures. How non-patient-facing work contributes to these pressures and what constitutes this poorly understood often unrecognised undervalued by patients, policy makers, even clinicians engaged in it. This paper examines ethnographically, informed practice theory, the Listening Guide, empirical...

We describe an analytical procedure for the simultaneous quantification of citalopram (seropram), clozapine (leponex), fluoxetine (fluctine), norfluoxetine, maprotiline (ludiomil), desmethylmaprotiline and trazodone (trittico) in human serum within a period 11.5 minutes using reversed phase HPLC. After 2 liquid/liquid extractions sample preparation phase, drugs metabolites were separated on C18 column mobile consisting acetonitrile/buffer (30/70, v:v) at 70 degrees C, flow rate 1.5 m/min...

We report the clinical features and treatment outcome of 33 patients with multiple sclerosis who developed acute promyelocytic leukemia. Thirty were previously exposed to mitoxantrone. The median latency period between initiation leukemia diagnosis was 32 months. PML-RARA bcr1 iso-form identified in 87% cases. Twenty-nine (90%) achieved hematologic remission after all-trans retinoic acid chemotherapy (n=31) or arsenic trioxide acid. Consolidation included modified trioxide. At a follow up 26...

Some patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are in complete remission after induction chemotherapy harbor persisting pre-leukemic clones, carrying a subset of leukemia-associated somatic mutations. There is conflicting evidence on the prognostic relevance these clones for AML relapse. Here, we characterized paired pre-treatment and samples from 126 mutations 68 genes. Fifty (40%) retained ⩾1 mutation during at variant allele frequency ⩾2%. Mutation persistence was most frequent...

Progress in electrostimulation has to be expected the threshold and detection performance. Toward this goal a low interface impedance under long term conditions as well high biocompatibility of electrode material are most essential requirements.
