Many authors have proposed criteria to assess the "environmental friendliness" or "sustainability" of software products. However, a causal model that links observable properties product conditions it being green (more general) sustainable is still missing. Such necessary because products are intangible goods and, as such, only indirect effects on physical world. In particular, not subject any wear and tear, they can be copied without great effort, generate no waste emissions when disposed...

ICT hold significant potential to increase resource and energy efficiencies contribute a circular economy. Yet unresolved is whether the aggregated net effect of overall mitigates or aggravates environmental burdens. While savings potentials have been explored, drivers that prevent these possible counter measures not researched thoroughly. The concept digital sufficiency constitutes basis understand how can become part essential transformation. Digital consists four dimensions, each...

The energy consumption of information and communication technology (ICT) is still increasing. Since several concepts regarding hardware solutions for Green IT exist, the contribution software to not well investigated. This comprises production usage impact on consumption. In our paper, we discuss this contribution. Especially, present a model that integrates aspects into engineering processes with agile methods in order produce "greener" from scratch.

Sustainability is a keyword in the 21th century. It gains importance all industry sectors, politics and public perception. In our paper we give an overview of research field sustainability computer science. We focus on software development software. Therefore make proposal for life cycle model which helps to develop green sustainable products. addition present concrete realizations support stakeholders involved products' cycle.

In the field of information and computer technology (ICT), saving energy has its focus set on efficient hardware operation. Recently, efforts have also been made in area software. However, development software requires metrics, which measure software's consumption as well models to monitor minimize it. processes they hardly exist. this work we present a generic metric method apply it engineering process.

Companies have made considerable progress in assessing the sustainability of their processes and products, including information communication technology (ICT) sector. However, it is surprising that little attention has been given to performance software products. For this article, we chose a case study approach explore extent, which manufacturers considered criteria for We selected manufacturer management on assumption they would be more likely integrate elements In study, applied...
