Pretty porous POMs: Ionothermal synthesis was applied to prepare POM-based open frameworks. Ligand-free Pd(OAc)(2) was found to catalyze very efficiently the direct arylation of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines at C3 under low catalyst concentration. The reaction can be performed employing as little 0.1-0.01 mol % with electron-deficient and some electron-excessive aryl bromides.

Abstract The palladium‐catalysed direct arylation of methyl 2‐furoate with aryl bromides was studied. use KOAc as the base, dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solvent and Pd(OAc) 2 catalyst found to give 5‐arylfurans regioselectively without decarboxylation. These 5‐aryl‐2‐furoates gave 2,5‐diarylfurans by decarboxylative coupling using catalyst. Methyl thus represents a convenient alternative substrate furan for synthesis mono‐ or poly‐arylated furans.

With the use of a flexible N-donor ligand 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane (bpp), new porous framework with Wells-Dawson clusters as nodes and Ni2+ ions linkers, [Ni(bpp)(H2O)2]3[P2W18O62]·∼24H2O (1), has been successfully obtained. Topological analysis indicates that 1 possesses perovskite structure. As framework, displays adsorption behavior toward H2O CH3OH.
