Carbon sequestration in deep underground saline aquifers holds significant promise for reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions (CO2). However, challenges remain predicting the long term migration of injected CO2. Addressing these requires an understanding pore-scale transport CO2 within existing brine-filled geological reservoirs. Studies on fluids through porous media have predominantly focused oil-bearing formations such as sandstone. few studies considered limestone and other...

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are ideal channel material candidates for energy-efficient nanoscale transistors; however, it is challenging to achieve uniform alignment of semiconducting SWCNTs with homogeneous chirality. Here, we report the proof-of-concept using organized chirality-sorted via relay technique (ART), where iptycene molecules order through π–π interactions. Top-gated field-effect transistors (FETs) were fabricated aligned (10,3) chirality as channels show an ION 3.8...

A model was developed to predict the onset of inertial cavitation within a spiral-wound reverse osmosis module sonicated along its axis from pressure vessel. The aim investigate scalability ultrasonic antifouling for applications. employs one-dimensional discretization represent feed channel, calculating each element's pressure, flow rate, permeate flux, and sonication intensity. Blake threshold assesses whether amplitude at element is sufficient produce cavitation. When applied with...

Many remote communities rely on diesel generators as their primary power source, which is expensive and harmful to the environment. Renewable energy systems, based photovoltaics wind turbines, present a more sustainable potentially cost-effective option for with abundant sun wind. Designing implementing community-owned operated renewable generation alternatives critical infrastructure such hospitals, water sanitation, schools one approach towards community autonomy resiliency. However,...

In this paper, we characterized the microstructure of Indiana Limestone rock samples using X-ray micro-computed tomography (microCT) measurements. Our preliminary results include porosity, and three-dimensional pore reconstructions for each sample. The resulting porosity values are consistent with experimental permeability tests.

Eutrophication, characterized by the excessive accumulation of nutrients, notably nitrogen and phosphorus, in aquatic environments, represents a growing concern contemporary environmental science. Specifically, eutrophication is intricately associated with proliferation algae, giving rise to development dense populations known as algal blooms. Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs), primarily composed cyanobacteria green pose threat ecosystems diminishing water clarity, depleting oxygen levels, and,...
