Glyphosate-based herbicides (GF) are extensively used for weed control. Thus, it is important to investigate their putative toxic effects. We have reported that GF at subagriculture concentrations inhibits proliferation and differentiation adipocytes of 3T3-L1 fibroblasts. In this investigation, we evaluated the effect on genes upregulated during adipogenesis. was able inhibit induction PPAR gamma, master gene in adipogenesis but not C/EBP beta, which precedes gamma activation. also...

Adipogenesis is stimulated in 3T3-L1 fibroblasts by a combination of insulin, dexamethasone and isobutylmethylxanthine, IBMX, (I+D+M). Two transcription factors are important for the acquisition adipocyte phenotype, C/EBP beta (CCAT enhancer-binding protein beta) PPAR gamma (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma). IBMX increases cAMP content, which can activate kinase A (PKA) and/or EPAC (exchange activated cAMP). To investigate importance differentiation mixture, we first...

Insulin (10 and 100 nM) phorbol esters increased the phosphorylation of several proteins, including 40, 47 80 kDa which are markers for protein kinase C activation. effects were evident at 2 min over 20 min. These findings suggest that insulin activates in BC3H‐1 myocytes.

Atrial and brain natriuretic peptides specifically bind to primary cultures of calf adrenal glomerulosa cells. Binding both the same receptor has been proved by: a Dixon plot showing competitive effects for binding 125 I-labeled peptide in presence increasing concentrations unlabeled atrial peptide; Scatchard lower dissociation constant (K d ) than binding, but maximum (B max values were same; autoradiography sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gels after cross-linking peptide, molecular...

Abstract Lead (Pb) is an environmental and industrial contaminant that still represents a public health problem. In this paper, we investigated the effect of Pb on proliferation, lipid peroxidation number micronucleated cells in exponentially growing 3T3-L1 fibroblasts, cell line previously used to evaluate different contaminants. We found (10 μM or higher) was able inhibit proliferation after 24-h treatment, which evaluated by MTT assay counting Neubauer chamber, but survival not affected...
