Lipid bilayers are active participants in many crucial biological processes. They can be observed different phases, liquid and solid, respectively. The phase is predominant systems. solid phase, both crystalline gel under investigation due to its resilience mechanical stress tight packing of lipids. properties lipids affect their dynamics, therefore influencing the transformation cell plasma endomembrane. Mechanical lipid also an important parameter design production supramolecular...
The biophysical properties of liposome surfaces are critical for interactions between lipid aggregates and macromolecules. Liposomes formed from cationic lipids, commonly used to deliver genes into cells in vitro vivo, an example such a system. We apply the fluorescence solvent relaxation technique study structure dynamics fully hydrated liquid crystalline bilayers composed mixtures dioleoyltrimethylammoniumpropane (DOTAP) neutral dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC). Using three different...
The effect of lipid oxidation on water permeability phosphatidylcholine membranes was investigated by means both scattering stopped flow experiments and atomistic molecular dynamics simulations. Formation pores followed a significant enhancement observed. molecules oxidized phospholipids facilitate pore formation subsequently stabilize in the membrane interior. A wide range ratios, from 15 to 100 mol%, considered. degree found strongly influence time needed for opening pore. In simulations,...
Vitamin C is the exogenous compound necessary for a variety of metabolic processes; therefore, efficient delivery critical maintenance body homeostasis. pharmacokinetics and low quantities in processed foodstuff, necessitates its continuous supplementation. In paper, we present new liposomal formulation vitamin free harmful organic solvents. The was quantitatively characterized with respect to chemically composition nano-structuring. accessibility cells from evaluated using evidence derived...
Mechanical properties of a lipid bilayer are parameters determined mainly for giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs). It is not clear if values obtained on the GUV model can be directly translated to submicron large (LUVs). This ambiguity major obstacle in exploring effect mechanics membrane associated processes and effectiveness liposome-based targeted drug delivery systems. In presented work extrusion, which common method prepare LUVs, was used study liposomes preparation stability upon...

Growth-inhibition of GW-77 human colonic tumors growing in hamster cheek pouches was found to be proportional the duration heating exposed by 4 °C with short-wave diathermy. A maximal tumor growth-inhibition 35 per cent resulted from administration a daily 30 min. period repeated on 7 consecutive days. Further, hyperthermia left pouch contralateral, presumably normothermic, tumors, thus causing us question whether has abscopal antitumor effects.
Despite recent advancements in medicine, lung cancer still lacks an effective therapy. In the present study we have decided to combine superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) with solid lipid microparticles develop novel, stimuli-sensitive drug carriers that increase bioavailability of anticancer (paclitaxel — PAX) through guided accumulation directly at tumour site and controlled delivery. SPION PAX-loaded (MPs) were fabricated from lauric acid (LAU) a mixture myristic palmitic...
Abstract The antioxidative activity of three anthocyanin pigments, extracted from the fruits chokeberry, honeysuckle and sloe, were studied. Lipid oxidation in liposome membrane, induced by UV radiation, was evaluated with a thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances assay. antioxidant efficiency studied compounds follows this sequence: chokeberry > sloe honeysuckle. extract concentrations at which 50% reduction phosphatidylcho line observed, respectively: 48, 54 60 mg/1. end products lipid...
The changing environment and modified lifestyles have meant that many vitamins minerals are deficient in a significant portion of the human population. Therefore, supplementation is viable nutritional approach, which helps to maintain health well-being. efficiency highly hydrophobic compound such as cholecalciferol (logP > 7) depends predominantly on formulation. To overcome difficulties associated with evaluation pharmacokinetics cholecalciferol, method based short time absorption data...
