Single photons are generated from an ensemble of cold Cs atoms via the protocol Duan et al. [Nature \textbf{414}, 413 (2001)]. Conditioned upon initial detection field 1 at 852 nm, a photon in 2 894 nm is produced controlled fashion excitation stored within atomic ensemble. The single-quantum character demonstrated by violation Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, namely $w(1_{2},1_{2}|1_{1})=0.24\pm 0.05\ngeq 1$, where $w(1_{2},1_{2}|1_{1})$ describes two events $(1_{2},1_{2})$ conditioned $1_{1}$,...

We report femtosecond measurements of the dispersion in nonlinear refraction and multiphoton absorption polydiacetylenes, specifically PTS [polymer poly (bis para-toluene sulfonate) 2,4-hexadiyne -1,6 diol] over spectral range 1200 to 2200 nm. Various modifications Z-scan technique were used make measurements. The refractive index coefficient ${n}_{2}$ decreased monotonically with wavelength can be reasonably extrapolated previous at 1064 It was found that multiple mechanisms contributed...

The SURA facility for generation of high power radio waves, located near the village Vasil'sursk USSR, operates between 4.5 and 9.0 MHz has a maximum effective radiated (ERP) 300 MW. Nonlinear interactions HF waves F‐layer plasma occur electromagnetic wave reflection point. Energetic electrons are accelerated out interaction regions by electrostatic waves. Ambient oxygen atoms collisionally excited these suprathermal yield enhanced airglow. Low‐light‐level, optical measurements were made at...

We demonstrate interference between discrete photons emitted by two different semiconductor quantum dots and quantify their degree of indistinguishability. The dot emission energies are tuned into resonance straining the samples. Upon on a beamsplitter, shown to be 18.1% indistinguishable, resulting in coincidence detection rate below classical limit. Post-selecting only those detections occurring within short time each other increases measured indistinguishability 47%. partially...

We report the measurement of instantaneous resonant four-photon absorption in polydiacetylene-PTS [polymer poly(bis para-toluene sulfonate) 2,4-hexadyine-1,6 diol]. Although normally too weak to be observable, an exact degeneracy between three- and into dominant exciton two-photon states, respectively, resonantly enhances this effect so that it can measured (four-photon coefficient ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{4}=0.01\text{ }{\mathrm{c}\mathrm{m}}^{5}/{\mathrm{G}\mathrm{W}}^{3}$) at its peak...

The time dependence of nonclassical correlations is investigated for two fields $(1,2)$ generated by an ensemble cold cesium atoms via the protocol Duan et al.
