Abstract: Previous work has demonstrated the ability to differentiate individuals based on analysis of human scent hand odor chemicals. In this paper, a range forensic biological specimens are shown also have upon volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present. Human VOC profiles from odor, oral fluid, breath, blood, and urine 31 were analyzed by solid‐phase microextraction–gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (SPME‐GC‐MS) combined methods chromatogram comparison, Spearman rank correlation...

Despite the implementation of a new blanket scheduling system in 2013, psychoactive substance (NPS) abuse remains serious social concern Japan. We present fatal intoxication case involving 5F–ADB (methyl 2‐[1‐(5‐fluoropentyl)‐1 H –indazole‐3‐carboxamido]‐3,3‐dimethylbutanoate) and diphenidine. Postmortem blood screening by liquid chromatography/quadrupole time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (LC/Q‐TOFMS) information‐dependent acquisition mode only detected Further urinary using an in‐house...

Abstract Herbicide poisoning commonly involves both paraquat and diquat (DQ); DQ alone is less frequently reported, especially rare in Japan. We present a case of fatal after attempted suicide by ingesting dibromide, requiring intensive care including hemodialysis (HD). Toxicological profiles DQ, metabolites, bromide ion serum were investigated relative to the course treatment. Quantitative analyses carried out liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for its oxidative...

Probe electrospray ionization (PESI) is a recently developed technique that enables the direct detection of endogenous compounds like metabolites without sample preparation. In this study, we have demonstrated first combination use PESI with triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), which was then applied to intact metabolite analysis mice liver, achieving 26 including amino acids, organic and sugars. To investigate its practicality, metabolic profiles control CCl4-induced acute...

Like many new designer drugs of abuse, synthetic cannabinoids (SC) have structural or positional isomers which may not all be regulated under law. Differences in acute toxicity exist between impose further burden the fields forensic toxicology, medicine and legislation. Isomer differentiation therefore becomes crucial from these standpoints as continuously emerge with just minor modifications to their preexisting analogs. The aim this study was differentiate JWH-081. Purchased standard...

Recent improvements in ambient ionization techniques combined with mass spectrometry has enabled to achieve real-time monitoring of analytes interest, even for biogenic molecules living animals. Here, we demonstrate a newly developed system vivo metabolites mouse brain. It consists semiautomated manipulation and unique probe electrospray unit, which uses an extremely thin solid needle (tip dia.: 700 nm) direct sampling ionization, coupled conventional tandem spectrometer. The successfully...

A cDNA encoding rat 2, 3-oxidosqualene : lanosterol cyclase, the enzyme responsible for complex cyclization/rearrangement step in sterol biosynthesis, was cloned by extensive application of PCRs. Oligonucleotide primers were designed sense and anti-sense directions corresponding to internal peptide sequences purified enzyme. Successive PCRs with all possible combinations these yielded a 178-bp fragment, based on its sequence full nucleotide obtained "rapid amplification ends"(RACE) method.

Iron oxide nanoparticle (NP)-coated target plates were employed for the direct detection and analysis of low molecular weight lipids by laser desorption/ionization (LDI) mass spectrometry (MS). We have demonstrated that use iron NP-coated provides a simple, direct, rapid method lipid standards epidermal surface without any cumbersome sample pretreatment as well spectra are free background matrix peaks.
