Background: Handgrip strength (HGS) has been extensively studied for its clinical and industrial significance, often linked to anthropometric measures like height, weight, hand dimensions. In Colombia, research on these correlations exists but is fragmented methodologically varied, limiting the ability generalize findings. This lack of standardization highlights need a unified approach. study aimed address this gap by analyzing HGS in Colombian context. Methods: Overall, 678 subjects (48.9%...

Passive and active remote sensing techniques are well used for understanding optical microphysical characteristics of aerosol layers. Lidar has the ability to resolve stratifications complex vertical structures in atmosphere determine existence aerosols which been transported long-ranges through evaluation properties such as particle backscatter extinction coefficients, among others. CIMEL sunphotometer data (AERONET network) give information about Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Single...

Species management should be based on accurate estimations the size and density of target population. In case otter, these are difficult to obtain due their habitat, low densities elusiveness, have relied mainly surveys animal signs or specific ad hoc methods, lately, in genotyping. We applied newly-developed spatial capture-recapture model estimate otter population Tablas de Daimiel National Park by a spatially explicit unmarked individuals using camera trapping-data together with distance...

The atmospheric processes that affect the Nocturnal Boundary Layer (NBL) raise unresolved questions, more critical in case of urban, tropical, and mountainous areas. This research examines structure NBL Aburrá Valley - Colombia, a tropical urbanized region characterized by complex topography. Here six methods were used to estimate thickness NBL, considering minimum backscattering gradient method (based on ceilometer data) as reference. Although all contribute understanding it was found...

Ethics in engineering has long been an important element programmes, however these subjects are often taught at a basic learning level with little attempt to connect demonstrative outcomes. In recent years there step change the importance of ethics as integral part programmes and is reflected text accreditation documents. this paper we expand our analysis from earlier study, which focused on four European countries, understand role more global scale. We conducted multi-country how where...
