Horseradish peroxidase-mediated polymerization of styrene at ambient temperature is reported. Molecular weight and yield polystyrene were influenced by solvent, concentration hydrogen peroxide, initiator (beta-diketones, coumarin). THF:H2O (v/v) peroxide (0.082 mol/L) provided maximum polymer (21.2% conversion to polystyrene) with 2,4-pentanedione as initiator. 1,3-Cyclopentanedione dibenzoylmethane initiators resulted in higher (approximately 60%) a molecular (Mn = 96,504, polydispersity...

ABSTRACT The formation of biodegradable hydrogels is reported based on enzymatic crosslinking reactions modified polyaspartic acid. Poly(aspartic acid) polymers functionalized with aromatic groups were crosslinked in aqueous solution via peroxidase hydrogen peroxide to form hydrogels. reaction products characterized time gel, swelling ratio, sol fraction, storage and loss modulus, entrapped enzyme. Optimum conditions for gel synthesis determined. have significant potential use biomedical...

The present paper reports abrasive wear behaviour of copper matrix composites reinforced with silicon carbide and silica particles. Copper – SiC (12%) Copper-SiO 2 (9%) were prepared by powder metallurgical technique. Metallography, image analysis hardness studies carried out on composites. experiments using pin disc apparatus. effect sliding distance load was studied volume loss increased in both the although magnitude increase different each case. exhibited relatively better abrasion...

MicroRNAs play key roles in host-pathogen-interactions and disease pathogenesis. Our aim was to characterize the differentially expressed miRNAs blood cells of diseased (Brucellosis-positive, Johne's disease-positive) healthy- water buffaloes. The pooled small-RNA samples each group were sequenced on Ion Torrent Personal Genome Machine (PGM) sequencer data analyzed for differential expression. Here we identified 274 known with bovine homologs 36 novel mature-star from sequnces small RNA...
