Ever since its planning in the 1990s, Three Gorges Dam (TGD) caused endless debate China on potential impacts environment and humans. However, to date, synoptic assessment of environmental changes their linkage with TGD is still lacking. Here, we combine remote sensing, meteorological, hydrological observations investigate influence downstream freshwater lakes. A 10 year Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) time series from 2000 2009 revealed significantly decreasing trends...

This study uses National Violence against Women Survey data to investigate the differential impact of concomitant forms violence (sexual abuse, stalking, and psychological abuse) ethnicity on help-seeking behaviors women physically abused by an intimate partner (n = 1,756). Controlling for severity physical who experienced sexual abuse are less likely seek help, stalking more whereas is not associated with help seeking. Ethnic differences found in seeking from friends, mental health...

This study establishes an expert-driven evaluation system to assess the sustainable tourism development of drama-related intangible cultural heritage in China. Utilizing Saaty 1–9 scale and hierarchical analysis method, 52 experts determined indicator weights current levels. Four dimensions are evaluated: humanistic value, project quality, development, sustainability. Results reveal value as most vital at 41.70 % weight. Secondary factors quality (29.89 %), (20.87 sustainability (7.54 %)....

Abstract Climate observations inform about the past and present state of climate system. They underpin science, feed into policies for adaptation mitigation, increase awareness impacts change. The Global Observing System (GCOS), a body World Meteorological Organization (WMO), assesses maturity required observing system gives guidance its development. Essential Variables (ECVs) are central to GCOS, global community must monitor them with highest standards in form Data Records (CDR). Today,...

Sea ice leads in the Arctic Ocean and Antarctic are of great significance to polar ecology, climate change, ship navigation. While rule-based remote-sensing classification methods, such as threshold method, have been widely used for surveying mapping sea leads, they difficulty overcoming problems noise poor generalization. In this article, we presented an automated, deep learning open lead detection network low wind speed conditions, entropy-weighted (EW-Net). EW-Net, a dense block was...
