Thirty-one wine samples differing in their origin of production and vintages were analyzed for total phenolic content, free sulfur dioxide contents, superoxide radical scavenging potentials. The polyphenol content red ranged from 735.9 to 2858 ppm, that white was the range 259.4−720.5 ppm. Total sufur 21.9 270.7 had no correlation color wine. Superoxide activity values 39.3 215.9 units/mL wine, those varieties ∼5−10 times higher. No observed between contents different tested values. A direct...

Human T-cell leukemia/lymphoma virus (HTLV)-carrying cells from various origins were characterized by cell surface markers and expression of HTLV antigens. Eight lines named TCL obtained transformation peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL) healthy donors or carriers in cocultures with HTLV-producer MT-2 cells. Nine ILT interleukin 2 (IL2)-dependent cloned PBL ATL patients HTLV-carriers. Tc-Kan9 line was also an IL2-dependent clonally established culture stimulated autologous Five TL vitro...

Paramylon, a beta-(1-->3)-D-glucan, isolated from Euglena gracilis, was tested for its adjuvant activity on the antibody response to sheep red blood cell (SRBC) in mice. Paramylon markedly enhanced anti-SRBC plaque-forming production at dose of 10 mg/kg. It also found that vitro addition lipopolysaccharide culture macrophages paramylon-treated mice produced large amount interleukin 1 (IL-1) and there significant level 6 (IL-6) induced transiently these As IL-1 IL-6 play crucial roles immune...

The platelet‐sized particle formation in the human megakaryoblastic leukaemia cell line MEG‐01 and its subline MEG‐01s was examined. cells spontaneously released particles into culture medium, which occasionally extended cytoplasmic processes similar to those of megakaryocyte proplatelets. Scanning electron microscopic images showed elongated from blebs on surface were constricted between segments platelet size. Immunofluorescence staining with anti‐tubulin antibody that contained...

Comprehensive analysis of alterations in gene expression along with neoplastic transformation human cells provides valuable information about the molecular mechanisms underlying transformation. To further address these questions, we performed whole transcriptome to mesenchymal stem cell line, UE6E7T-3, which was immortalized hTERT and papillomavirus type 16 E6/E7 genes, association progress cells. At early stages culture, UE6E7T-3 preferentially lost one copy chromosome 13, as previously...

TO test the applicability of an anti-8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG) antibody for immunohistochemistry using paraffin-embedded sections, carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4 )-induced rat liver injury was evaluated. Male rats were given a single dose CCl and killed at 6 hr, 12 1, 2, 3, 7 days thereafter. Severe centrilobular necrosis evident 1 day. At 2 days, moderate mononuclear cell infiltration present in necrotic regions. Infiltrating cells, surrounding sinusoidal endothelial cells...
