Abstract Glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness, requires accurate early detection. We present an AI-based Glaucoma Screening (AI-GS) network comprising six lightweight deep learning models (total size: 110 MB) that analyze fundus images to identify structural signs such as optic disc cupping, hemorrhages, and nerve fiber layer defects. The segmentation the cup closely matches expert ophthalmologists. AI-GS achieved sensitivity 0.9352 (95% CI 0.9277–0.9435) at 95% specificity. In real-world...
We tested the hypothesis that a questionnaire-based risk score predicts prevalence of patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) vascular predisposition. The Flammer Syndrome Questionnaire (FSQ) was used to determine scores in 823 healthy subjects and 512 POAG. Next, we characterized blood flow pulsatility changes within optic nerve head (ONH) syndrome (FS) using laser speckle flowgraphy (LSFG) 358 eyes 206 normal-tension (NTG). Last, examined association between Mean blur rate...
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to investigate differences in microvasculature dropout (MvD) between the superior and inferior hemispheres glaucoma patients. Study design Retrospective cross-sectional. Methods Fifty-eight eyes of 58 open-angle patients (age 61.12 ± 10.19 years, mean deviation − 7.32 6.36 dB) were included. MvD was detected with en face images from swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography. Blood flow at optic nerve head measured laser speckle flowgraphy,...
