The discovery of a previously unknown 21cm HI line source identified as an ultra-compact high velocity cloud in the ALFALFA survey is reported. detection barely resolved by Arecibo 305m telescope ~4' beam and has narrow linewidth (HPFW 24 km/s). Further observations at with VLA corroborate detection, provide estimate radius, ~1' 5 x 10^19 cm^-2 isophote, show to exhibit rotation amplitude ~9.0 +/- 1.5 km/s. In other papers, Rhode et al. (2013) have stellar counterpart ongoing star forming...

We present new HI spectral line imaging of the extremely metal-poor, star-forming dwarf irregular galaxy Leo P. Our images probe global neutral gas properties and local conditions interstellar medium (ISM). The morphology is slightly elongated along optical major-axis. do not find obvious signatures interaction or infalling at large spatial scales. disk shows rotation, although velocity dispersion comparable to rotation velocity. amplitude estimated be V_c = 15 +/- 5 km/s. Within radius...

ABSTRACT We analyze the relationships between atomic, neutral hydrogen (H i ) and star formation (SF) in 12 low-mass SHIELD galaxies. compare high spectral (∼0.82 km s −1 ch spatial resolution (physical resolutions of 160–640 pc) H imaging from VLA with α far-ultraviolet imaging. quantify degree co-spatiality star-forming regions column densities. calculate global efficiencies (SFE; <?CDATA ${{\rm{\Sigma }}}_{\mathrm{SFR}}$?> / }}}_{{\rm{H}}{\rm{I}}}$?> examine among SFE mass, density, rate...

We present kinematic analyses of the 12 galaxies in "Survey HI Extremely Low-mass Dwarfs" (SHIELD). use multi-configuration interferometric observations 21cm emission line from Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) to produce image cubes at a variety spatial and spectral resolutions. Both two- three-dimensional fitting techniques are employed an attempt derive inclination-corrected rotation curves for each galaxy. In most cases, comparable magnitudes velocity dispersion projected result...

We present sensitive CO (J = 1 0) emission line observations of the three metal-poor dwarf irregular galaxies Leo P (Z ∼ 3% Z⊙), Sextans A 7.5% and B all obtained with Combined Array for Millimeter-wave Astronomy interferometer. While no was detected, proximity systems allows us to place very stringent (4σ) upper limits on luminosity (LCO) in these galaxies. find luminosities be LCO < 2900 K km s−1 pc2 P, 12,400 A, 9700 B. Comparison our results recent observational estimates factor...

We present new low-resolution HI spectral line imaging, obtained with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (JVLA), of star-forming Magellanic irregular galaxy UGCA 105. This nearby (D = 3.39+/-0.25 Mpc), low mass [M_HI=(4.3+/-0.5)x10^8 Solar masses] system harbors a large neutral gas disk (HI radius ~7.2 kpc at N_HI=10^20 cm^-2 level) that is roughly twice as stellar B-band R_25 isophote. explore dynamics this system, fitting tilted ring models in order to extract well-sampled rotation curve....
