A convenient and rapid method that combines a fluorescent nanoprobe based on C-g-C<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub>-Eu<sup>3+</sup> with smartphone test paper has been developed for the <italic>in situ</italic> detection of tetracyclines.
