The ionic nature of liquids (ILs) results in a unique combination intrinsic properties that produces increasing interest the research these fluids as environmentally friendly "neoteric" solvents. One main fields is their exploitation solvents for liquid-liquid extractions, but although ILs cannot vaporize leading to air pollution, they present non-negligible miscibility with water may be cause some environmental aquatic risks. It thus important know mutual solubilities between and before...

Ionic liquids (ILs) have recently garnered increased attention because of their potential environmental benefits as "green" replacements over conventional volatile organic solvents. While ILs cannot significantly volatilize and contribute to air pollution, even the most hydrophobic ones present some miscibility with water posing risks aquatic ecosystems. Thus, knowledge toxicity solubility must be assessed before an accurate judgment prior industrial applications. In this work, mutual...

Among new potential solvents for lignocellulosic materials, ionic liquids (ILs) are attracting considerable attention. Hence, the knowledge of thermophysical properties such fluids is essential design related industrial processes. Therefore, in this work, a set properties, namely, density, viscosity, and refractive index, as function temperature, isobaric thermal expansivity heat capacities at constant were determined eight with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation combined following anions:...

Molar enthalpies of vaporization, a homologous series 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethyl sulfonyl)imides, [Cnmim][NTf2], (with 2 ≤ n 8) were directly determined for the first time. The results obtained in this study emphasize and constitute clear experimental support novel concept that these liquid salts are composed polar nonpolar domains; is, they exhibit microphase segregation.
