The deep population history of East Asia remains poorly understood due to a lack ancient DNA data and sparse sampling present-day people. We report genome-wide from 191 individuals Mongolia, northern China, Taiwan, the Amur River Basin Japan dating 6000 BCE – 1000 CE, many contexts never previously analyzed with DNA. also 383 46 groups mostly Tibetan Plateau southern China. document how 6000-3600 people Mongolia were populations that expanded over Northeast Asia, likely dispersing ancestors...

ABSTRACT In this article we present a review of the archaeology and chronology Neolithic (i.e., pottery-bearing) cultural complexes Kurile Islands. Previous studies revealed only general patterns pottery lithic typologies in archipelago within tentative chronological framework. However, recent research has now firmly established an occupation southern part Islands dating to as early ca. 7000 BP. Based on preliminary investigations it appears that major economic activities focused hunting,...

A chronological framework for the prehistoric cultural complexes of Sakhalin Island is presented based on 160 radiocarbon dates from 74 sites. The earliest 14 C-dated site, Ogonki 5, corresponds to Upper Paleolithic, about 19,500–17,800 BP. According C data, since 8800 BP, there a continuous sequence Neolithic, Early Iron Age, and Medieval complexes. Neolithic existed during approximately 8800–2800 Transitional Neolithic-Early Age are dated 2800–2300 may be 2500–1300 Middle Ages period...

Abstract A model system for studying double-strand-break (DSB)-induced genetic recombination in vivo based on the ets1 segCΔ strain of bacteriophage T4 was developed. The ets1, a 66-bp DNA fragment phage T2L containing cleavage site SegC site-specific endonuclease, inserted into proximal part rIIB gene. Under segC+ conditions, behaves as hotspot. Crosses against rII markers located to left and right gave similar results, thus demonstrating equal symmetrical initiation by either broken...
