Abstract Toxicity evaluations of micro- or nano-sized plastics in rodent species commonly employed for toxicity analyses based on which risk assessment humans could be performed are still largely lacking. Given this knowledge gap, the present work was aimed at determining potential impact chronic exposure to polystyrene nanoplastics (PS NPs) thyroid endocrine status and biochemical stress a rat model. Young adult male rats were orally administered with PS NPs (1, 3, 6 10 mg kg−1 day−1) five...
Drug resistance has become a matter of great concern, with many bacteria now resist multiple antibiotics. This study depicts the occurrence antibiotic-resistant (ARB) and patterns in five full-scale hospital wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Samples raw influent wastewater, as well pre- post-disinfected effluents, were monitored for targeted ARB genes September 2022 February 2023. Shifts profiles
This study presents health risks-related perceptions during informal recycling of municipal solid waste in Tehran, Iran, associated with poor management. We developed a proved reliable and valid questionnaire which provided information detailed evaluations from total 384 participants who agreed to be interviewed. The showed an acceptable knowledge positive attitude towards picking related risks. However, healthy safe behaviors were not so common among them. majority respondents (33.6 %) only...
Background and purpose: Cancer is a noteworthy cause of morbidity mortality worldwide, especially in developing countries. It more often caused by the environment person lives in, rather than his or her innate biology. The highly significant rapid changes cancer incidence last decades are generally attributed to equally dramatic population exposure environmental factors.
The present work reports treatment of real dairy products wastewater by electrocoagulationflotation (ECF).The process was performed in a batch stainless steel reactor equipped with aluminum electrodes. The model attributed to ECF optimized employing response surface methodology (RSM) via operating variables viz.pH, current intensity, and electrolysis time view chemical oxygen demand (COD), total kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), phosphorus (TP), turbidity, as well fat-oil-grease (FOG) removal from...
Abstract Background Few studies have examined nano-sized plastic particulates (NPs) exposure in relation to oxidative stress and biochemical responses rodents, commonly used for toxicity evaluations on which base risk assessment humans. Methods Here we explored possible of five weeks oral polystyrene (PS) nanoparticles (1, 3, 6 10 mg/kg body weight per day) male rats. We variance analysis explained statistic eta-squared (𝜂 2 ) estimate the strength relationships worked out. The whole scanning...
Biohydrogen production from sugarcane-based substrates such as vinasse and bagasse has been studied. In this study, sugarcane was hydrolyzed in acidified five ratios, including 1:0, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, 0:1 ((dry weight (g)/ liquid (mL)). the 1:15 ratio of to (SB/AV), maximum amount sugars reached 10.03 g sugar/L. Moreover, highest cumulative biohydrogen volume 1462 NmL, accompanied by a volumetric rate (VHPRm) 110.79 NmL H2/Lr.h, both observed ratio. The optimal pH for determined be 6.5 ratio,...
