Creation of content is one the more time-consuming elements course preparation. We propose SimpleDoc, a tool for crowdsourcing reference materials in CS1 classroom. The crowdsources student submissions explaining topics using both text and worked examples. are then instructor reviewed published to class. Our preliminary findings at major North American university indicate that students prefer peer generated supplement, or even replace, other materials.
