The role of sediment-bound organic phosphorus (Po) on lake eutrophication was studied using sequential extraction and enzymatic hydrolysis by collecting sediments from Dianchi Lake, China. Bioavailable Po species including labile monoester P, diester phytate-like P were identified in the extractions H2O, NaHCO3, NaOH. For H2O-Po, 36.7% (average) 14.8% 69.9% P. In NaHCO3-Po, 19.9% 17.5% 58.8% NaOH-Po, 25.6% 7.9% 35.9% Labile active to support growth algae form blooms. Diester mainly...
The abnormal reproduction of algae in water worldwide is prominent the context human interference and global climate change. This study first thoroughly analyzed effects physical factors, such as light, temperature, hydrodynamics, operational strategies, on algal growth their mechanisms. Physical control techniques are safe have great potential for preventing blooms absence chemical reagents. focus was principles possible engineering applications shading, ultrasound, micro-current,...
Microplastics (MPs) are pervasive across ecosystems, likely posing significant environmental and health risks based on more evidence. In this study, we searched through the Web of Science Core Collection obtained 1039 papers for visualization analysis. order to discuss chemical composition, migration, transformation potential risk MPs, 135 sets relevant data in soil, water, atmosphere were collected China as a typical region, which is hotspot region investigation MPs. The results showed that...
The spatial and temporal distributions of short-, medium-, long-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs, MCCPs, LCCPs) were studied in sediment cores surface from nine lakes China. highest total CP concentrations found the plateau southwest China, followed by northeast, east, remote northwest. three groups showed an increasing trend 1970s to 2014, with most rapid increase occurring late 2000s consistent statistics on historical production CPs site-specific profiles sediments lakes, their...
Abstract Solution Phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance ( 31 P NMR) spectroscopy coupled with enzymatic hydrolysis (EH) commercially available phosphatases was used to characterize phosphorus (P) compounds in extracts of the dominant aquatic macrophytes and algae a eutrophic lake. Total extractable organic (P o ) concentrations ranged from 504 1643 mg kg −1 2318 8395 for algae, respectively. Using NMR spectroscopy, 11 species were detected mono- diester region. Additionally,...
Cladophora is commonly found in marine and freshwater around the globe provides productivity for littoral zone microorganisms invertebrates. The eutrophication of water body has led to abnormal proliferation some water, often river coast channel outbreaks. Even under nutritional deficiency systems, such as central trunk canal South-to-North Water Diversion China, Cladophora’s blooms affect quality seriously jeopardize human health. Thus, structural characteristics cells spores, factors...
